My PIE/iPOD hardwire

PIE ($80) installed to the AUX button that is powered by a 12v accessory plug tap (always on).

Installed a female 12v cigarette plug ($1) in behind the dash that is switched off the fuse panel (add-a-tap $6). In this, I plugged in the 12v iPOD BELKIN accessory ($0) which takes the audio plug in at the adapter. Then routed the iPOD cable with the audio and the switched 12v through the panel that pops off to the right of the steering wheel. double stick mounted a iPOD holder from compusa ($12).

Oh and I got the 20 GB iPOD and the belkin cable from a friend for $100

Nice... I'd just be worried that the pod is mounted too low and you'll be looking down quite often in an effort to scroll songs etc... I had one of the first XM set ups in my old truck with a display mounted low... I had several 'near misses' on wrecks because I was too busy fiddling with the display/controls.

Just be careful...it definitely looks clean!

Speaking on the IPOD issue, I have one but havent tried to figure it out yet. Is there a place on the net that I can "share" music files for free?

Ha, so far so good on that... only NEAR misses... (I agree though, I picked aesthetics over safety)

Question: Can anyone identify the song playing on my iPod when that picture was taken?

not any legal places. grokster just got shut down by the supreme court. I think this included kazaa also. Used to be you could from winmx.com, but im not sure the site is still up. i quit after the whole lawsuit scare. that and my PC was riddled (yes, riddled) with viruses from the downloads.

so there, dl at your own risk.

Try Limewire.com! My kids turned me on to it a few days ago. I was able to find some real cool Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, B.B. King...

Regards!

Now that is hot, I just got the new IPOD 30G Video from my wife for our anniversary (she is awesome) and I am having trouble finding anything that hooks to it such as cables. Did you hook yours into the AUX slot? What are those jacks just RCA's? If so I am just going to come out of the headphone jack and hook right into it...the cheap Radio Shack FM Modulator is not cutting it at this point. I may hide the cable under those removable cup holders pieces when not in use, then just get one of those cup holder brackets...this way I can tear it down when not in use.....by the way she got me the black one to match the interior of the lariat...did I mention she is awesome?

For the most part, the PIE is the only thing that I know about other than FM modulators and car cassette adapters. For those with cassettes, I have seen some car cassette adapters that will allow you to control your iPod from the cassette deck, but I don't know much more about them than what I just told you. I'd do the PIE since it's a line signal going into the radio rather than a converted signal unlike the cassette adapters and the FM modulators.
