Ok now I understand, I just pulled the plate off the dash and I get it. Basically the the PIE has the weird Ford connectors that are on the back of the radio (so you do need this to hook to the stereo because on my 6-disc changer that is the only other connection) Then you can just use a radio shack cord with RCA's on one end & 3.5mm headphone jack on the other and that will hook into your IPOD headset jack for sound. However if you want to charge your IPOD on the road you can just do a universal IPOD cigarette charger and hide it in the dash with just the tail out to plug into the IPOD or do the Blitz product which does that and also will turn off 20 minutes after the car is turned off (I never leave my IPOD in the truck so it doesn't matter to me...$59.95 or $20). I am thinking I will do the PIE (because you have to) then use my Radio Shack cord for headphone jack and just do a universal lighter adapter for the power. This should make a nice clean install and I can listen to it unlimited because of the charging. By the way I also came up with another mod, you can put an RCA splitter on the PIE and hook up several things so I am going to run another headphone jack to the back seat so when we attach our portable DVD player we take on long airplane rides it can play through the stereo...just thinking ahead.

It is $84 at this website...

Did you hook yours into the AUX slot? What are those jacks just RCA's? If so I am just going to come out of the headphone jack and hook right into it...the cheap Radio Shack FM Modulator is not cutting it at this point. I may hide the cable under those removable cup holders pieces when not in use, then just get one of those cup holder brackets...this way I can tear it down when not in use.....by the way she got me the black one to match the interior of the lariat...did I mention she is awesome?
a nice alternative and a lot less set up is what i purchased at amazon, ipod plays great. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...Fencoding=UTF8

Where did you get that wood trim bezel on the shifter base? Is that chrome shaft stock on the F-150, I can't recall whether or not I have a chrome shaft on the shifter. Also, what camera are you using to take these pics.

I too have the Lariat but it looks as if the shifter base is wood trim. That is not stock but it also may be a reflection of the wood grain because mine is chrome. Maybe your dealer added that but it's slick. I did the Mark LT shifter swap if you look in my gallery, you might want to do that as well.

I think that is the reflection.

Yeah that shifter is nice, I like mine though so far I get lots of compliments, my next project though is just getting the iPod hard wired so I can listen to it in the truck.....I like your exhaust and the AF1, those are some mods I am going to to do as well, I have the same color pakcage you do and everyone can not believe it is a truck, they are expecting plastic sets and such.

You'll enjoy them. I guess the Mark LT shifter is not in my gallery, or is it?

Yes, download limewire @ limewire.com!

Lots of "sharing" to be had there!

Just a FYI....the RIAA has hit a few limewire users in the past few months with some lawsuits.

Dude - that IPOD setup is awesome. Makes me want to go buy an ipod with my tax return money. Again...awesome job.

STOCK - it's chrome - you are seeing the wood reflection from the dash...

Camera? old Nikon Coolpix 4300 - like 3 years old...
