Valve Tap w/ only 3500 miles?

When my engine (2005 S-Crew 5.4L) is cold, I have a very noticable sticky valve (valve tap) going on. Now this thing only has 3,500 miles on it! When it warms up, it goes away for the most part.

Anybody else experiencing this?? I can only imagine what the dealer would say if I had it checked out ....

is it a valve or the fuel injectors?

Sounds like an 'ole school valve tap to me ...

If it's an injector ... it sure is a mighty noisy one!

that is one ugly truck you got there!

Is the noise coming from the passenger side of the engine? It could be the cam phaser ticking, which is a known problem. and there's a TSB out for it, well at least on the 04's there was. My dad had it on his XLT but the dealer fixed it.
