so what did you have before? You had the middle seat and you replaced it with a console?

Yep, had a 40/20/40 setup, cloth. Replaced middle seat with an XLT console with some flow thru console bits. Here is what I took out and gonna put on Ebay shortly.

Did you also replace the seats? You said you had 40/20/40 cloth and your seats now look like leather.

Oh Yeah, It looks sweet

Thanks! A while back, I replaced the factory cloth covers with Ford OEM Lariat seat covers, front and rear. Got them on Ebay for 85 bucks plus shipping. Best 110 bucks I spent on the truck so far.

ALOT But well worth the cost savings and downtime having someone else do it. Cut and sore hands. It really wasn't that bad once you familiarize yourself with how the covers are attached. Just took some patience and taking my time.

Good work.

So the questions remain...

If I already have a XLT SCAB with a flint console. What would I have to do to just add the flow through part?

Does the XLT have the vent hookups? Or is it just not possible to get a FUNCTIONAL flow through into a XLT?

I would really like to do this but, info before hand would be helpful.

Sorry about that CMA, if you JUST want to add the visual console part and NOT include the actual shifter, linkage, and such, you can purchase the flow thru console from Ebay for about 45 bucks, as you can't adapt your XLT console to flow thru, but you will need top cover piece where the shifter would normally reside, then the lower connector panels which will meet up to the bottom of the dash, here is a member who did this and looks awesome https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...t=flow+console. Look at some trucks on ebay with this setup as this will give you an idea as well. Unfortunately, doing the full conversion with shifter and such would be really cost prohibitive as you would need the proprietary dashboard, shifter, linkeage, harness, etc. I am not getting the feeling though you are looking to do this. As far as the vent hookups, my FX4 did not have provisions for this. I just added the panel for eye candy, although, the ac adapter is functional. As a result, I dont think you can get functional flow. Someone chime in otherwise because I am actually curious myself. Hopefully this helps you a bit!

I've got to think you could put simple one or two electric fans in there, they are almost free since computers use 12 volt fans, and route them to a switch. The air would not be from the a/c, but you could set it up to blow, and just circulating the air would feel nice for a rear passenger.

A two or five dollar mod that might actually do something...

Plus it would make it even more unique.

Excellent idea Chris. My question is what makes the factory installed flow thru console vents active? I imagine there are vent tubes running from the dash, down along the bottom of the console and straight to the vents. Can anyone verify?
