Warranty Info/Help
Warranty Info/Help
I want to mod my truck, but I also got an extended warranty. I talked to my salesman (who talked to a manager) to see what I can and can't do. He said whatever is on FordAccessories.com is what I can do. Or if I buy through the dealer then it would'nt void it but would only cover 12 months instead of the extended period (that I paid for). He also said I can install any Roush products and it would be under the same 12 month warranty period. This was from some manager of the dealer. I just find that to be odd, seeing all of these modded trucks on the streets. What's the deal. I NEED HELP, any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

By law only the part you modded can be denied warranty coverage. If you mod the exhaust, Ford will not cover. the same as the intake, or any other mod. If you blow an engine, Ford may try to say it was the mod that did the damage. If you don't mod the tranny or rear end, Ford can't deny a claim, UNLESS they can prove the engine mods caused the tranny to go bad. Get my drift. A search will give you some more detailed info about the law on this. good luck
