What's yours idling at?

My three week old Lariat Screw 4X4 idels at barely 200RPM when warm. At start up (cold) it'll hover around 600-800RPM unit it reaches its operating temp and then plummets south in a real hurry.

This seems a little low to me. Is it?

What's your ride idling at warm/cold?

You're idle is really low.

Normal idle is 500-600 rpm. When I first startup in the morning it immediately goes to 1200-1400, then drops to about 800 after a minute.

I would say your tack is off I doubt it would even run at 200 rpm. or if it did it woud not be smooth. if you have a digital odometer you can check the rpms on the digital tach in diagnostic mode. to confirm it is off.

Mine idles at about 600-700, if yours is idling at 200, the engine would stall.
A few months back mine would stall intermittently, at a stop light would slowly go from 600, down to about 200, shutter and stall.

200 RPM at hot idle is either a misreading tachometer or an engine that sounds like it's running on two and a half cylinders. My 5.4 idles at around 1200 rpm on cold start up, 600ish hot in drive and 800-850ish at hot idle.

I ****e you not fellas. It idles at 200RPM's and doesn't stall.

It only got my attention on the weekend when I went to turn the key over while it was running. The thing was that quite that I couldn't tell it was idling. It runs/drives like a dream though.

Thanks for the replies. Off to the Ford dealership in the morning.

Must of been bad carma to post in this thread, got in my truck after work today started it up and the idle went to about 2500 rpm, then dropped to about 1200 and stayed there. Shut it down and restarted it, and drove it for about 2 miles, stopped at a red light and then idle dropped below 300 and stalled. Again restarted it did the same thing, finally i shut it down one more time and it seemed ok. No wrench light, no nothin

I suspect your tach is off. it wouldn't run smooth at 200 rpm. stock idle is supposed to be set at 550 rpm warm. mine dose vary between 500 and 600 rpm, but mostely at 550 rpm where it is supposed to be.
