Belt squeal

I had my belt replaced last year for squealing when cold, now it is getting cold again and its squealing again. Anyone got a long term fix for this besides moving to a warmer climate.

That sounds like a bearing that gets slightly tighter when cold. Try removing the belt and spinning the idler and auxillaries for tightness. Sometimes a bearing does this when cold, but loosens up when hot. Anybody else? Also, does the "sqealing" go away when the motor warms up?

Prolly just needs some tension adjustment. Always more noticable in the cold months.

It Only Squeals For 20 Or 30 Seconds, Last Year When Ford Put A New One On It Did Not Do It Anymore For The Rest Of The Winter. And It Acts The Exact Same Way Now That It Did Then.

Im kind of inclined to think you are just having bad luck with belts. Try the gatorback.

Also, put a drop of dishwashing soap on the belt (Dawn, etc). If this shuts it up, you will know it IS the belt, and not the tensioner, etc.
