They look ok to me. The one thing I dont like is you cannot get them chromed! If you go for the chrome package you get 18" chrome rims.....NO 20" chromies

If I DID want to check it and took it to the dealership, how much would they charge for something like that?
The speedometer would be slow by 6.15%. Going 54 on the speedo you would really be doing 60 mph.

woohoo!! That's just the kind of thing that can get me into a LOT of trouble.

Anyone know how those tires (275 55 r20 vs. 255 70-16) would affect the gas mileage? Would the dealer charge me to recal?

Your math is off. If the speedo is off by 6%, he would have to be traveling 100mph to see a 6mph error in his speedo. His difference would be closer 3-4mph difference at 60mph.

That's not too bad - took her by the dealership today because I threw a code that is probably nothing. After hearing they were going to charge 90 bucks just to hook the thing up to the computer, I opted to disconnect my battery cables and cross 'em.

I promise there is a point without hijacking this thread: ...... If they will charge me 90 bucks just to take the thing back there to look at the CODE, then I'm mortified how much they would charge to recal my speedo/odo.

I LOVE the look of the 20's on the new 150's.

I just did the math.

A 275/65/18 is 32.07 inches tall
A 275/55/20 is 31.9 inches tall

Your speedometer would only be .006 off if you went with that size tire for 20's.

If you go with a 305/55/20 would be 33.64 inches tall. So your speedometer would be off by 5%.
I just measured my 275/65/18 and they are aproximalty 30" high from the floor to the top of the tire. How are you getting the extra 2.7 inches?

I ask because I am seriously considering the 2006 20" and want to know as accurately as possible the height.

Thank you,

Ah yes but keep in mind that the tire is being compressed from the weight.

OK.... that makes sense. I did not know that tire height measurements were stated with no weight. Now I understand the frame of reference.

thank you,

Also remember that tires dont measure true. For example the 31in firestones that came on my bronco measured 29.7 inches off the truck. Thats why when you readtire reviews in Four wheel and offroad etc they give a true measured height as well. Also they differ between manufacturersfor example a 305/40r22 by nitto can measure out differrent than a set of 305/40r22 yokahomas

The 06's look just like a Ranger in front now. I like the big fogs of the 04's and 05's better.
