Getting the LT handle's keypad to work on a non-keypad truck.......
Good luck with it.
I know of two guys who put them in, and they worked, no programing. And three or four that the dealer could not figure out. The same thing as adding cruise or changing clusters, it takes a tech that will try, not just blow you off.
I cheated on my truck. The STX does not have the security module, and it's not an option to add it.
No problem, I wired up an analog module, put it next to the PowerCode deluxe keyless under my dash. Works fine for unlocking or locking. Had to mess with the wiring as the new pads are digital. I think they changed over in 02.
My solution required ten bucks worth of salvage yard parts and a little thought, but it looks stock, works stock. Just isn't stock underneath the dash.

Well, long distance calls are not as expensive as they once were, how about calling Galpin ford or Citrus ford in california and asking to speak to a tech about it. Get him to tell you the procedure.
Lame answer, but I know both those places have done the job, thus must have someone that understands CAN bus stuff. Or basic keyless.
Do post if you get it whipped.
I'm happy with my retro setup, but others really want to know.

thanks in advace
str8ace I talked with the Galpin tech on the phone, but never got his name. At Citrus you can't really talk to a tech, the service writers run back and forth... Policy...
Call and talk with the service writer before you make the trip. Take your time and be sure they understand that this requires some knowledge of the system, not just parts replacing.
