As a dealership employee, I gotta say something here. This kind of **** pisses me off! If a dealer can't provide good customer service without the threat of a survey hanging over their head, then what the ****?

As for you people who "use your surveys for leverage" shame on you. Using it to make sure dents and dings get fixed AFTER taking delivery? Technically, not cool. If you paid close attention to the Delivery Checklist gone over with you by your sales consultant at the time of delivery, you would see that there is a check box with the words "I have inspected my vehicle and it is in good operating condition and damage free." If you signed your delivery checklist, and your sales consultant checked that item, then technically you are committing fraud. But hey, let's not be technical.

I got 6 of my "Customer Viewpoint" surveys back this month, and received an A+ and a
"Completely Satisfied" on all but one of them (and the customer requested confidentiality so I will never know who it is), and I never once gave away anything free. Nobody ever got a free tank of gas, or free details, or any of that BS, JUST GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Thats my standpoint on this whole "survery" BS. If I haven't provided an excellent sales experience, then tell me and we can work out whatever it is that's bugging you so badly. Know what I mean?

I am just a customer and I agree with you, but, I am totally satisfied with the service at my dealer. They have been great. On the other hand, some folks in here seem to get treated like crap at the dealer, so if I were one of those, I might could see using the survey as leverage. I think that is what the survey is about. Make the dealer perform as he should in the first place.

I never signed anything saying I had inspected the truck for dints/dings/chips.

Me neither but when I walked around the truck and noticed a deep scratch in the driverside fender and an indentation in the rubber bumper they filled out a sheet called a "We Owe" which had me on record along with my salesman acknowledging the fact that there was either damage or dents in the truck. I guess if I did not notice those items, I would have been SOL unless I got this survey/questionaire.

Actually, my truck just came back from the body shop having those items fixed. They repainted the d/s fender and removed the plastic push clip in the rubber bumper cover and put a phillips head screw in its place and left the other plastic clips in there. Granted, this straightened out the bumper cover, but why use something that was not installed at the factory when my truck doesnt even have 2000 miles on it yet???? Oh and the icing on the cake was when I went to readjust my power pedals and seat, the pedals started making a crackling noise and then black pieces of plastic shot out from the pedal assembly. Now my gas pedal is swinging in the breeze. Remind me to thank the body shop for being without a car for two days now!

Always ask for a loaner. My dealer has provided me one each time.

I purchased an 04 Explorer and an 04 F-150, never did see a "customer check off list".
Then again i did inspect both vehicles and have always received good service from the dealer. Therefore i have never dinged the dealership in the surveys, but if i received unsatisfactory service i would. Why would i give them a "second chance" ? I never got a second chance on a test in school if i did poorly on a test.

My dealer also offered me the free tank of gas for a "perfect" survey. I thought about it (at nearly $3.00 a gallon that's close to $80.00 for a full tank of gas!) but I really wasn't 100% happy with my dealer, and figured in the end my integrity was worth more than a tank of gas.

I mailed-in the survey and answered it the way I truly felt, not how the dealer wanted me to answer it.

Just my .02 cents....

My dealer said I don't care what you answer just bring us the survey. I think they are having a hard time getting people to fill them out and turn them in.

Also when you are at a light or stop sign and just tap the gas pedal, it feels like after the RPM's go up, it feels like someone steps on the brake really hard as the truck almost lurches back. My truck is an 05 F-150 5.4l with the FX4 package. Does anyone else have these similar issues???
This is the first I have heard of any drive line issues with these trucks. Have not heard of any slips, clunks or vibes....

Overall I am happy with the service I have received from dealer. I just wanted my window sticker. I didn't ask for anything except that and they just offered me a free oil change and tank of gas. When they call me to let me know my window sticker is in I will ask them however, why my truck has no insulation underneath the hood. And I will get some.
