New Truck Invoice Price?
New Truck Invoice Price?
I've got a buddy of mine that's about to get a new F150. You guys know the best place to get info. on what the dealer paid for a truck. I've never paid sticker but having a printout to take in would be helpful in negotiations.
Any thoughts?
Thanks guys, and gals

You might want to try the "buying" forums, but they're pretty sparsely viewed.

Tried Consumer Reports but didn't realize they charge for a report.
Oh well.

KBB.com is the site I use
It gives dealer invoice and sticker.
Dealers make thier money by selling over invoice and dealer hold-back. Dealer hold-back for domestic auto is 3% of FULL sticker price that the manufacturer gives the dealer for selling the vehicle....hold-back is NOT affected by the actual selling price. A MSRP of 30K nets a dealer $900 from the manufacturer. Often this can be used as a negotiating tool by the consumer....in other words you can get the vehicle BELOW invoice by a couple hundred bucks if the dealers sales are slow, the trucks are not moving to well and various other factors.
Advertising fees, title processing and registration fees are minimal income producers Also the dealers profits are affected by short-term financing of the vehicles on the lot....the manufacturer dosen't front them the vehicles. The dealer has to pay and that requires financing. Every month on the lot and the new vehicle realizes LESS of a profit margin....they want to sell quickly.
