The first question depends on the size bottle...the concentration of the NOS (temp determines this)...and a few other things. But to give you a short answer, the best I can remember a 8lb bottle would last about 45 to 60 seconds with a 150 shot. Like I said thats the best I can remember...but I never sprayed it for more than 10 to 12 straight seconds at a time and then you would have to purge it before then next run and so on, so a lot was waisted.
How much would it cost to fill an 8lb bottle with NX (roughly)...obviously NOS is not something I know much about.

The going rate around here is about $6-10 /lb. As for the amount of time as stated earlier of 45-60 seconds, especially a 150HP shot, you will never hold it for that amount of time consecutively, you will overheat. The autometer temp gauge in my mustang climbs quite rapidly in the 1/4 mile with only a 100 shot.

15 seconds MAX at a time

Bottle refills here are like $1-2/per lb

Dry Shot vs Wet Shot, wet shot will have the most impact and hardest "hit" when your on the juice.

When using a "XXX shot" you will most the time see a larger increase in torque (20+ more than the shot number you used depending on the install)

im assuming a wet kit would be harest to install since you have to go through the injectors? how exactly do these kits hook up? a line from the bottle to some kida controler in the engine bay that wires to a swtich thats controlled in the cab. i guess with relays so that it only works are wot? then from the controler to what? the fuel lines?

I certainly didnt mean he could use it for 45-60 at a time...I meant thats about how long a bottle would last me total when I was spraying a 150. In other words 4 or 5 passes.

I know, just clarifying before someone else who has never used NOS before assumes its just like Fast n' Furious and you hold it for as long as you want .

wet, dry ? you all forgot one more powerfull nitrous sytem, direct port. My dad just installed it on his srt-10 and it is awesome but only lasts for a certain time [which isn't very long], in my opnion nitrous are only worth the cash if you either have a race car or a very fast car in thr firsr place. The truth is f150's are neither and far from it, even with a 50 shot the truck would only run high 15's and would still not be able to beat most cars and trucks on thr road.

Don't get me wrong people, nitrous is def the way to go on performance but it is not something i personally would not do to my 6000lbs truck that runs in the 16's.

no actually wet kits are very simple. the nitrous and extra fuel is combined into a single nozzle which sprays into the intake tube just before the throttle body. thats why they are also called foggers because they spray a mist of nitous/fuel. there is 1 nitrous and 1 fuel solenoid that keep pressure in the lines ready to go. the solenoids are connected to a relay which is activated by the WOT switch. and tapping into the fuel system is easy(at least on my '01 it was) there is a test port on the fuel rail which u connect the fuel feed line to the fuel solenoid. no splicing hoses or anything

Take what i have for instance, window switch (set too 2500-5000rpm), tps wot sensor, normal spst (i think) switch.

Now when tps reads 100%, the rpm range is between 2500-5000 and the switch is on; the nitrous is SPRAYING.

Next example would be i am accelerating over 2500rpms, the switch is ON, but tps doesnt read 100% i wont be spraying. It needs all three to complete the circuit. So if the switch is off, but i am over 2500rpms and at 100% tps i wont be spraying.

Wet kits are usually installed after the TB. Dry kits are normally installed, pre or post MAF (before the TB).

It's fun, thats why ...

Nitrous is like a hot girl with an STD. You know you want to hit it, but you are scared of the consequences.

I think nitrous would be a lot of fun but it kills the resale value of the truck, but if you plan on keeping it forever then go for it.
I had a buddy with a GTI blow his motor using nitrous,
I dont want any std's.......

How does this lower resale value ? No one sells their car with nitrous unless its a race application. And no one says "oh btw i ran the motor on nitrous" ...

Please, **** resale value and an attempt for an excuse not to use it.
