Heated Seats - 10 minute timer?!
Is there any way to get rid of the 10-minute timer on the heated seats? I could only find the following thread:
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...t=heated+seats
Unfortunately, this thread is mainly an argument about why you need heated seats in a car, whether trucks need heated seats at all, whether or not other makes of cars have a more comprehensive set of warmth settings, whether or not people should be content to simply hit the button over and over again, various jokes about the thermal conductivity of butts, etc. Nearly 6 pages of posts and very, very little commentary on how to defeat the timer. The whole thing reminded me of my IT department at work -- ask them to do a task and they spend the next two weeks trying to convince me that I don't really want to do what I asked them to do!
Please don't post about how truck drivers shouldn't even have heated seats or how the best solution is to simply press the button over and over. That doesn't really help me much ... or anyone else who's reading the thread. I didn't ask the question, "Should I look for a way to defeat the 10 minute timer?" Sorry for the rant, but based on how the former thread went, I thought it prudent to prequalify this one!
Anyway, any help on how to defeat this irritating feature would be, uh, err, um, well, helpful.

I dunno about defating the timer, but these suckers get WARM!! I really can't imagine needing them on longer. After they get toasty your body should keep them warm.
But that's just my opinion. I hope you find what you're looking for.

No I don't see anyway to keep them on. The seat modules contain the ten minute cycle, not the PCM or in the controls.
Another issue, foam does not like to be heated for long periods of time, it goes 'flat'.

I know you might think it's a pain but I imagine they added this timer to prevent what happened in my Dad's Lincoln. The heating pad eventually burned out, burning a hole in the foam and shorting out. It wasn't that bad of a replacement but I think they are doing this now to make the pads last longer.

I have got in a habit of hitting my button about every 5 minutes to recycle the pattern and keep it good and warm. :santa: When/if you find a way be sure to let us know.
my 04 and now my 05 both go off after about 10 minutes. my wifes suburban stays on until truck is shut down, but it has 4 different settings.
anybody know what the 2 settings on the f150's are?

Is there anywhere to pickup a chilled pad as opposed to a heating pad, or some form of seat cooler? My back was sweating while test driving an 04 w/black leather. It may have been because I was a bit nervous that he [salesman] was going to tell me to gtfo because I was driving to fast.
Both my dads porsche and my moms benz heated seats turn off after about 10-15 minutes.
The reason being that it gets too hot and the componenets that make it hot have to kool down (what the porsche dealer told us). I imagine the ford heated seats are similar.
The cooled seats in the benz stay on for as long as the button is on
