Take it back to them and make them fix it. It's pretty obvious that it is not right.

no doubt about it. Im pretty pissed as you can imagine. What I need to see though is if there is A particular piece. I think There is a little part missing at the bottom af the mount but I cant be sure without pics. I you can take a few shots for me that would help me tremendously. If anyone else can as well please do! Im in desperate need here!

You know I'm going through that same thing right now. Back in December I took a rock in the glass and had the windsheild replaced. The rear view has bounced ever since, I temporarily solved it by wedging toothpicks between the glass and mount until I could get it permanetely fixed.

Finally took it in last week to get that taken care of. The diagnosis was that the mirror was loose on the mount and they ordered a new mirror. Flash forward to two days ago when I took the truck in to get the new mirror installed, they cracked the glass trying to get the old one off. New glass for me!!

Anyway, I wonder if something on the mirror gets pryed out of place never to be the same again after taking it off?

As far as pics...I know that some peoples' galleries on here have a picture of the general rear view mirror area. Might do a search and see if you come up with anything.

There is a riveted guide plate(?) that snaps on to the mount. Apparently it becomes loose when removed. So now they have to give me a new rear view mirror. And to think their initial reply was kinda like "Oh well" And to further add to my grief the dumbass helper stepped all over my bumber (upper painted part and put some scratches on it! WTF am I supposed to do about that?!?! Im mean what kind of jackass does something like that? ANyhow what Im looking for is a pic of the mount from the outside. I can see where the mirror clips on and I dont recalll it being that way. As always all of your help is greatly appreciated. Im so mad Im shaking...

I can't help with any pics at the moment, but...

Was this an insurance job? If so, you can tell your co. to withhold payment until you're satisfied. I did that on a repair job and they ended up replacing the windshield because I wouldn't accept the job.

Also, speak to the owner/manager, chances are they don't want an unhappy customer badmouthing them around town.

The mirror was removed the wrong way
some guys just pull them off after the windsheild is removed.. WRONG...
some use a screwdriver to pry between the mirror and the glass....WRONG...

Ford has two types of mirrors on late models,

SLOTS ON THE SIDES.
The correct way is to remove the attactments from the mirror, then on the side is a small slot... use a 1/4 blade screwdriver in the slot between the glass and the SPRING CLIP.... not the mirror outer shell.....then twist the driver..removing this mirror ALLWAYS has a risk of cracking the shield..

SLOT ON THE MIDDLE BOTTOM,
use a 3/16 screwdriver in the slot and lift the driver away from the shield...
low risk of cracking on these, but I've seen it happen...

on the side slotted mirrors if you spring the rivets, you can sometimes rebrad them the tighten the clip, if not you will have to replace the mirror....

on the center slot, if spring, replace mirror....

That is because of the lack of respect for others and their property. Hope you get it all corrected without to much trouble.

Bumper? Try bumper AND the first 10 inches or so of the roof! I mean come on, why not just use a friggin rake while your at it! You should see all the scratches on there! One of the geniuses decided it would be ok to bruch the debris of the roof with a hard bristled brush! BELIEVE me, someone is going to get an earfull.

Can you get someone to video your visit? Sounds like it'll be fun. Just make sure you get what you want before you tell them what you think of 'em. But if you don't get what you want, then this is where the video part comes in to play.
