yeah lol im hard on the poor truck, but if youre not going to have fun with it...

but yeah im just getting this crazy stuff outta the way, caution will definately be on the increase from now on

and as far as the pcm is concerned, yeah it was reflashed but that same speed limiter is still there... im going to get a custom tune down the road after i make a few more changes and at that time ill have them get rid of it

Hmmm...I figured it would be quicker than that on the speedometer vids.

My truck is about the exact same set-up as yours...except I have 3.73's and damn there every bolt on except for boost and headers.

All naturally aspirated and I am in the high 13's...low 14's.

I think you need a custom tune.

Let me see if I can post a video of a couple runs. Could just be me seeing it differently...I dunno.

You need to get some track times.

yeah i dont expect it to be real fast. if i had to guess i would say id be lucky to make it into the 14's. yeah custom tune, new gears & some back pressure from a muffler would help quite a bit i think

Hellbound, what wheels are you using? Are you still using the stock chrome XLT wheels? If so couldn't this be cause for his times to be slower than yours?

I think he is on lariat/fx4 18's

For every 10lbs of driveline/wheel weight is about .1 seconds in the 1/4 mile, so an extra 100lbs in wheels would be roughly a second.

It's a bit fuzzy, but you get the idea. I have a crappy VHS recorder, so....

As far as wheels, no I am not using the chrome XLT wheels. I have the new Lariat aluminum wheels I purchased off of ebay and some Toyo Proxes ST 295/45/18's on there. Here is a current pic.

That algorithm seems extremely off. That would be saying if my buddy hops in with me, I'll lose 2 seconds at least (220lbs or so) on my 1/4th, no way. But you know more about this than me, just sounds outrageous, can you blame me?

well maybe hes just talking about wheel weight... i know that heavier wheels with a larger rotating mass do have an effect on performance... my wheels weigh 46 lbs each plus tires and have an over diameter of 31.6. that plus 3.55 gears sucks. hellbound, i had 295/45/18's on my '01 and those are 28.x" if i remember correctly. that plu your 3.73 gears gives u a big advantage. like i said one of the first mods after getting my truck fixed is goiing to be 4.10 gears. that will make a huge difference i think. i also had quite a bit of weight in the truck yesterday. had my buddy and 50lb sub box in the cab plus my two wrecked wheels and a 30lb file cabinet in the bed. thats prolly 300-400 lbs extra right there.

as far as the weight, i thought i remember hearing that 100 lbs added takes off .1 second of a 1/4 mile time...

I read his post too quick, it clearly says wheel/driveline weight.

Yes, wheel/driveline weight makes a big difference. My tire/wheel combo weigh 61lbs a piece. Plus, I weigh 250lbs...weightlifting does have it's downside. My buddy runs my truck and gets a tenth quicker everytime at 150lbs.

My race weight with me and fuel is 5000 lbs even. My "final" drive ratio is 3.92 with the 28.5" diameter tires.

Yes, gearing makes a difference, but I assumed a RCSB truck like yours should easily attain 13's with a S/C...even with 3.55's.

Do you have any other mods in addition to your S/C'er?

Just for reference, a Supercab Lariat with 3.55's and a Whipple installed ran a 14.2 with traction issues. It is posted on their site, and I called and spoke to them when I was considering one. In your truck, you shold see even better results.

Not bashing your ride, it looks killer, and it does haul. I just think a tune, some added mods...headers and upgraded ignition on 93 octane will do you some good.

Also, a rule of thumb on tires, always stay below 30" tires on these trucks. Anything above kills ya !!

I chose the Lariat wheels because A.) They are factory B.) They are hella light and C.) they were very cheap on ebay and look killer IMO.

Will it break the tires loose from a stop without power braking it first? I really like how it looks under the hood...and that whine is awsome!

Mine does =).

By the way, I went racing on the streets last night, I got stopped next to two Hemi trucks and neither of them attempted to race. I got the chance to race a Toyota Celica GTS and absolutely murdered it. LOVE IT!
