Thanks guys for all the replies...kinda' confirms what I already knew. I also found out that since my '04 was built in June of '04, I have to order the '05 exhaust. Does anyone know the difference between the '04 and '05 exhaust? I found both on ebay, but the '05s are much more expensive.

The difference between the 04 and 05 is in the length of the intermediate pipe. This is the reason some complain about having to cut the new pipes to make them fit. They got the wrong system for their year.

I have Borla dual exit out the back. Kinda quiet for my taste, but it's pretty loud when I get on it.

I have a soundbite of this setup in my gallery. I've seen some other soundbites (Magnaflow, Flowmaster, etc) on this forum ... but don't have the links for you.

So what's quieter out the back. Borla or Magnaflow? I'm assuming the both have the same power gains.

Also, the black that gets on your tips from the exhaust. Does that clean off easily?

I really like the sound of the Borla. If/when I change exhaust setup, it will probably be the Borla. The magnaflow seems a little loud to me... just my $0.02.

Good luck freeky.

I do believe Magnaflow is louder than Borla. And Flowmaster (40) should be louder than Magnaflow. I don't know about any other setups.

As for the black exhaust dust, it's not the easiest thing to clean off. Once you let it build up (like I have ), it can take some serious cleaning. I would think taking care of it each weekend or so would be quite beneficial. I just need to get mine back to a nice shine and then I can try harder to keep them clean. Mine are currently much worse (bottom lip) now than in my posted pic.

< EDIT >
TRUE --- Borla is probably the most expensive "ready to put on" setup available. I'm just glad I bought mine before the price of SST went through the roof in the last year.
</ EDIT >

But I've never seen a borla catback even near the price of magnaflow. It'd probabl be cheaper to do a magnaflow SIDO with a magnaflow resonator. Anyone know if the resonator will kill performance?
