Red face Driver side keypad code?

Are they the same by default for all vehicles? I'm assuming not? If they are, what is it?

When I picked my truck up, I discovered someone else had it for 300 or 400 miles but had to bring it back because of financing issues. Not a big deal, but they lost the card that has the keypad code on it.

I found another code but it has an X in it.. (####X) and the card says that this is a "key code".. Is this what I need? And how do I enter an "X"?

The dealer SHOULD scan your computer for FREE and provide you with this code....if not...Do not deal with them.....

They are not all the same. Once you figure out the factory code, you can create your own code as well, and they both will lock/unlock the doors.

The dealer will fix you up.

If the dealership will not give you the code it is on the box on the drivers side behind the rear seat back.
P.S. Here is a link to pics on how to do it if you have to. IMO if you just purchsed it from a dealership they should pull it off the computer for you free of charge!https://www.f150online.com/forums/li....cfm?gnum=5660

Interesting. I will check that out!

I haven't gone to the dealer yet.. I don't think it'll be an issue, just trying to see if its something that I can handle before making yet another trip out..

I had the same thing. The dealer hooked up to it and pulled the code in 5 minutes.
