What did you use to cut into the dash?

I'm curious, how did you take that lower gray panel off. I want to run wires into the cab on that side and I can't find a place that is accessible from the engine on that side besides a small spot by the pedals (wires would show there).

really clean.

Out of curiousity is there any reason at all that you wouldn't just want you fans running all the time? I really can't see a purpose for having them on a selectable switch? Or did you do that just so you can have a sweet switch in the truck? lol

Speaking of the coil holder

Anyone pull it out? My 4x4 has it, and that'd be a great place to stick a gauge.

How do you get the holder out without breaking something?

I have e-fans to be installed soon. At that time I'm installing a on/off switch to be used during river crossings. To access my favorite deer hunting areas I need to cross reasonably deep rivers. Shutting them off at that time is a good idea, maybe not the only one but an important one to me.

That's a nice install...I'm planning to do the same thing this weekend, minus the boost gauge. I think I'm going with red LEDs tho...I think it will look better on the gray...my opinon of course..

Well done.

Not sure where you're going to run the wires, I am still on the fence about getting that gray panel the headlight switch is on, off. Let me know if you figure it out.

Actually I was looking at it today...the panel just below the stearing column comes off with two screws and two snap connectors...after I took that off I was able to reach my hand around to the back of the grey panel. My only problem is running the wire from there...ground, power and signal (green cable on the controllers)...and where to go thru the firewall...worst comes to worst I think it will look good on the panel below the column...I also have the spot on the dash just to the left of the radio...I believe on the Lariat there are some switches there, mine, FX4 has just some blanks.

To answer your first question: I don't know how that grey panel comes off...but I believe I can work around it without taking it off...this is why I bought the truck...sit out in the garage and figure these things out...I'll let you know how it goes..

I figured I would have to take off the panel next to it, the grey plastic is grounded much stronger. I was namely curious as to which rubber grommett I'd use in the firewall to route the cables. Please let me know which you choose to go with.

Yea, I was just thinking about that...I'll probably just go thru the fender where the antenna cable comes thru...I may just make another hole there and put in a grommett...just run the wires across the under side of the dash...I'll be able to tap into a 12v power source for the switch on the passenger side as well..

I want to know how he mounted the headlight switch there? How does it attach to the dash. B/c I want to add a tranny temp guage and I was looking at the a piller pods but I am not a big fan of those.
