I have an 05 with a Flowmaster and K & N air filter. My dealer did the reflash, no questions asked. It made a world of difference.

A couple of things. The dealer sold you the truck with the most of the mods they are whining about; a reasonable person would assume they could fix what they sell. Check your paperwork about any voiding of the factory warranty or if there is a separate Sherrod warranty. If not, they have no excuse not to service and warranty your truck as they would a bone stock example.

Superchips or XCAL do not change all of the parameters in the ecu. When I used my 1714 on my 04, it started having the stalling issue. I called Troyer's and they asked me to have a Ford reflash done; I did and no more stalling issues. I believe that would confirm that a the aftermarket turners only change certain parameters that affect the truck's performance. If one of the excuses they are not reflashing your truck is because of it resetting the tire size to stock, then the tuners will definitely solve that issue; perhaps they should buy you a Superchips so it will not be a problem for you

that is complete BS, the dealer sold you that package, the dealer MUST warranty it for as long as the factory warranty, and thats the bottom line. Get it fixed somewhere else if you have to, but dont let that dealer get away with it, call their manager, call ford, whatever you have to do, but your situation is complete BS

I say try a different dealer. I had leaky tail lights, one so bad that it took the chrome backing off in one place.
The delaer i bought it from told me there was nothing he could do unless i brought it in with water in the lens (which would have taken alot of time), then he would have to take a digital pic of it, send it to Ford, then wait till they got the approval to replace them.
I took it to another dealer, they replaced them no questions asked. Its amazing how different service departments can be.

Had my 05 computer reflashed a couple of weeks ago.Told the dealership about throttle lag, would start then die. They reflashed the computer, no problem and it does make a difference.

well guys, Duval Ford took it today. Guess what, I was told that the latest update was in it. Any difference????? Not that I can see as of now. MPG on the computer still is around 12.5 mpg. I will see what happens, but after experiencing this nightmare, I regret the day that I traded my Avalanche in on this truck. Dont get me wrong, it is an eye turner, but I cannot afford the gas for this thing and the truck payment.

I will update after this tank of gas. BTW, low fuel light came on with 1/4 tank of gas left. go figure.... they didnt find anything wrong with that either.

Well guys, this will be my last relpy on this subject. Due to the poor gas mileage and the cost of gas now, I am going to part ways with my truck.

My wife's Suburban gets 17 in the city and that is what I am driving now since she is closer to home with her job.

Thanks for everyones advice and understanding on this matter.

Stephen

Not if you are still under warranty and you tell them that it is lagging or hesitating and may get you killed in traffic.
