Break In period!

Break In period!

I have a 05 F150 had it 2 months on September the the 10th will be 2 months and it has 550 miles.. how many miles should it take for the break in?

Okay thanks cause one guy told me don't run it hard for the first 500 miles or so and then another guy said the first 2 oil changes.. Thanks!

just drive it right, (keep your rpms down) dont redline it everywhere... shouldn't tow for about 1k or so to let the gears set it prior to being pulled in load. once it gets past break-in, you will notice the truck's dynamics change a bit...should be a bit more willing to move. btw... your first change is probably listed @ 5k miles...if you drive on dirt roads at all, do it waaaay sooner than that... ran mine to 5k, and im on unpaved 50-65% time...oil wasn't in good shape at all.

Mines 100% pavement...

I think everyone has different methods to break one in.

I myself just run it like I am going to drive it for the rest of the time I own it.

What I want to do, but my luck sucks so bad I figure it'll break.
