New Rotors...Now what??

I had vibration while braking on my early build 04 so I made a call to the dealer. Didn't expect much cause I have 22K on the truck. They said they could turn the rotors under the warranty but wouldn't replace them, figured that it wouldn't matter either way since I have seen many posts with the updated parts still having rotor problems. Thought the grind would buy me time until Brembo came out with a good replacement. Went to pick it up and the invoice said two new rotors...how about that! Got home to re-torque the lugs had to stand on my breaker bar to get them off and torqued them to 150. Now I am wondering what caused the warp? I am really easy on this truck, never speed, never hard on the brakes never over torque and had this vib from 4000 miles. Wondering if the rotor was the problem or if the pads caused a problem? The dusting on the pads has calmed down now after 22K so that's no biggie but wondering if I should upgrade the pads to prevent more warping?

Thanks
Jason

I would have the pads checked at least, cause bad pads do warp rotors.

Yup, ford states not to turn the rotors and just replace them. Happened to me, just the ****ty part is you dont get new pads.

If you can afford it, I'd just buy new pads all the way around right now so you don't risk warping your brand new rotors plus you won't have anymore brake dust!

You might have a sticky caliper(s), causing the rotors to overheat. If you continue to have the problem, have it checked out.

Thanks guys for the suggestions,

So it looks like new pads are not really necessary. I was just wondering because the rotor surfaces are not very clean you know. Looks like the pads are depositing material onto the rotor. I am use to seeing a nice clean rotor surface. Just was thinking maybe a harder pad material would clean them up.

Thanks
Jason
