I'm too old to worry about rust. Hell I'm rusty so what do I care. One thing you could do if it really bothers you is to find a Ti replacement. Now that would be trick and just think of all the weight you'll save!

I think it is possible that the rust for those who have removed the bolts is from the actual removal process. Is it possible one may have slightly scratched the bolt head, in turn causing the advancement of the rust....?

Its just surface rust. I really wouldn't worry about it.

Well whatever the reason is that they rust, mine are getting replaced for free by the dealer tomorrow.

Just ignore Bill, he's a maroon....I had my linexed too. I like the look better, no problem with rusting, and easy to get out with a utility knife. The only time I plan on removing my bed is if there is damage and then I'll just get the whole thing redone.

I was given the option to remove them or leave them and my dealer told me he'd cover it if there was ever a problem.
