Wait is this a confirmed that the Helo Maxx 6 18x9s will not fit on the 2005s or are we talking about a 17" version (if they make it?) Im really screwed if they don't fit..

The 2004 XL front end would make your truck look so much nicer and a lot cleaner!

For an intake i think you should remove the inner silencer for now because it is a free modification and allows alot more flow...

If your going for gears for the 4.6L do 4.30 as a min, im serious.

I have a 285/50R20 size wheel and i move good, nah i move real good. (Even without a tuner )
asinatra,

what rpm is your motor turning at 70mph? You say you dont have a tuner, did you reprogram your computer for the new gears? I'm running the same size tires you are and have thought about a gear swap.

Thumper, 17s, 18s and 20 inch Helo Maxx 6s will not fit because they all have an 18mm offset. You need at least 20mm of offset on the 2005s. I have 25mm of offset and they BARELY clear the front calipers. That XL front end wasn't only available in 2004. It comes standard on XLs unless you buy one equipped (like most are) with the "Work Truck Group." I was pleased because the Work Truck Group docks more than $1K off the price tag, which is A-OK for a poor 19 year old like me! I won't change the front end unless I went with more chrome all around the truck, like LT handles and what not. Right now the chrome and black ratio with the wheels is perfect for me!

Asinatra, I'm curious to hear about the 4.30s as well!

Sorry Thumper! Oh well, I'm sure you'll find SOME WAY to cope with a brand new truck!

Asinatra, lets hear about those gears. Also, I took my intake tube off and saw no silencer inside it. Is it there, or is the 2005 intake different, or what?

Well the 4.6l comes equip't with the 8.8 rear gear, this is pretty much the same rearend that has come on 4.0 rangers, gt mustangs, etc... We have an unlimited ammount of parts suppliers that sell 8.8 gears.

70 was 2000rpms
70 roughly 2300rpms

And if we had the power and stability 4.30 gears A& red line in OD would be roughly around 150

fourpointsix,

those are some tight rims, never seen them before. I like them. So your offset is 25mm? What is that like in terms of backspacing?

Higdogg, glad to see you're still around! Thanks for the compliment! Yeah these wheels are pretty new. Baccarat is a "luxury" wheel line (just go to their website - the intro is classical music! Go figure). I was introduced by Mark at www.1000rims.com. They have 3 different websites, and the Baccarats are featured at wheelsmaster.com. I'm not sure of the backspacing of this wheel. It is available in the proper offset (which is a royal beeeeeeeeyatch to find I might add!)

Juggernaut 150, I have a SI/SO IMCO 3 inch diameter. It is the meanest sounding exhaust out there, bar none. I didn't realize how loud it was until my mom drove my truck. I could hear my truck clearly the next street over. Very deep and throaty, but a smooth sound. It's the best sounding exhaust out there.

Asinatra, how is the acceleration of the 4.30s compared to 3.55s? These are sounding excellent to me. I don't mind turning 2300 RPMs at 70. My old truck was a 1990 F250 with 4.10 gears and a 5 speed and I was turning 2600 RPMs at 70 with the ol' 351w. I imagine the mileage is much better with the 4.6L. I don't do much in the way of highway driving anyway! Just out of curiosity as well, I couldn't see where the silencer tube was located in the stock intake tube. I took it off tonight and it all looked like one piece to me. Thanks for your help man!
