Which computer tune?

I haven't been on the forum for a while. I am ready to purchase a reprogram unit, but don't know which one is the best one out there right now.

When I was last here, everyone was talking about the 1714. Is this still the real deal?

The Xcal seems to be the one of choice right now. Hypertech has a good programmer as well.

Troyer sells them for $499...I found them at http://www.marcymotorsport.com for $325. Is it really worth paying the extra $170 to buy it from Troyer?

As far as i know troyer includes 3 custom tunes but if you know what you are doing or having it professionaly tuned you went the right direction...

Do any of the members of this message board ever share tunes? I know that on the sportbike forum that I frequent, people share the Power Commander tunes all the time.

Certain PCM's have different computer codes (4 digit) the codes need to match if something like that was possible.

$499 is the listed price for the Xcal2. F150online forum members get a discount. When you call tell them your member name. I think it is definitely worth it. Do a search on the Xcal2 and you'll find lots of info from guys who are using Troyer custom tuning.

My only concern is that since I don't have my intake or exhaust yet, what custom tunes would I choose? I plan on doing intake and exhaust, but I don't know which ones.

Go to the Chips and programming forum and check it out...lots of Xcal 2 info available. As far as which tunes you really need to talk to the folks at Troyer Performance.

BamaChips sell their X2 for $399 with 3 custom tunes as well, i know a few guys on the boards have gone with them recently and its a GOOD alternative to higher priced dealers.
