Quote for gears

So i am taking my truck tomorrow to get a quote on the gear change 3.55 to 4.10. Ford wont do the change cuz it doesnt come stock on my truck. Whats a good price for install? Im buying the parts from here http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=8606

My other question is: Is this all the parts I will need? All the seals and little stuff I need for the change. Diff Fluid? Anything im forgetting? Thanks oh yeah and i have reg cab 5.4 with 9.75 rear end. I had this on another post but didnt get too much of a response there. Sorry if you had to read twice.

I was quoted $1600 for 4.88's front & rear and $1900 w/ a 3/36k warranty. But...I am getting it done cheaper because I'm buying bigger tires at the same time.

Sound4performance,
Thats an awesome price. Did you go with the ford 4.10"s? Is he doing these at the ford dealership or at his house? warranty? I wish i could get ford to do it so i could get the warranty. I know a ford tech who i think is going to do it for me. No warranty though! He's only charging 125 bucks plus 184.00 for the gears

ive got a used POSI (5k miles) and used Ford gears (7k miles), 4.10s. ideally i would have liked new gears, but i cant afford them. a ford tech agreed to do it for $100 cash but he needed a lift, so i talked to the service manager who always helps me out and hes writing a service ticket on it so the tech gets $100, so in reality i may pay like $110-120 labor (shop supplies etc etc). although none of my information really helps you out since im getting a pretty good deal that youd be hard pressed to find anywhere else. i havent asked but im assuming it wont be covered by warranty.

for $184 id bet youre just getting the ring and the pinion, you would need an install kit separately im sure, as well as gear oil LS additive. the kit should come with bearings seals shims, crush sleeve, etc.

Anybody bought these 4.10 gears from ford. Im gonna call tomorrow and find out what is included. How much should the kit cost me? I dont wanna spend more than 500 hundred on parts and install. I know thats low but the install is gonna run cheap. Thanks

an install kit could run $75-100, gear oil and additive maybe $30, that leaves you around $220 for gears if you get the install for $125
