I work for the Axle plant for Ford and we are seeing a big drop... The Expy/Navigator line will probably work 6 weeks from now til the end of the year.

Screwbuilder, Thanks for the update. I cant wait for my 2006 truck. It is supposed to be built the week of Sep 5th. Although I haven't called the dealer for the VIN#, I am pretty sure it will be built in KC.

Thats a pretty bold statement....Our Plant has not slowed down in parts production. When we stamp the roof for the Supercrews, we normally run about 9000-10000 per run, which is about every 25 to 35 days....
I really think that it will not be as bad as some predict....The 'F" series has ALWAYS been a hot item even in times of high fuel prices....

Hope your right...gas prices have NEVER been higher, here in calif. im expecting to see $ 3.00 a gallon by the end of the month.
I have endured increases in fuel costs over the years, but this increase (with no end in sight) is actually (for the first time) effecting my standard of living.
We are avid dirtbike/quad riders and go every season usually from Nov. thru June, probably will be taking only 1/2 the trips we usually do, the motorhome will have to sit.

round Fog lights

About 3 months ago I was on the highway and seen a convoy of f-150's with the round fog's. I thought they were 2006 and the round fogs to me look like crap. They take away from the look of the front end. Maybe they will change them back in 2007 but prolly not.

I seriously doubt that an extra $1500/yr in fuel cost is going to limit pickup trucks to the world's elite. Let's not go crazy here...

I doubt that the Super Duty sales will waiver much in the wake of the current gas prices. Most of the people who buy those actually need them. The F150's on the other hand aren't necessarily used for work trucks. A lot of people get them because they like trucks and the F150 has a nice car like ride to it. I see a lot of "soccer moms" in my area driving them. But at $60 + to fill the tank I am just wondering how many will say enough is enough and get something with better milage. No, $1500 dollars a year for fuel may not break the bank, but it's the idea of spending ~$60 a week for gas that will scare some off.

Later on in the 2006 model year ford is supposed to release a flex fuel 5.4.....im running the E85(85% Ethonal) in my explorer now and it makes a HUGE difference over regular gasoline in how the truck runs, gas milleage, and cost....its $0.25 cheaper than the rest of the gas in town....only problem is there are only 2 stations in the entire vegas valley right now but with the prices and performance of the fuel i think its ok to expect many more to pop up in the valley and around the country and many more vehicles that run on the E85 flex fuel within the next couple years.

^I don't know about E85. I used to have a Sport Trac and the owners on the web forum are saying the E85 does little or even reduces the gas mileage they normally would get with regular gas.

Why do people say the 150 is not a work truck?

Come look at mine. My 01, and both 04s get treated as trucks. I have had over 3000lbs in my 04 4x4 already. My 01.... treated it so bad once I split the bands in the tires.

They are tough trucks, damn yuppys driving the prices up thought. I hope sales decrease and cost comes down some.

Abusing a truck doesn't make it a "real truck"

I didn't say it's not a work truck. But i feel confident in saying that a lot more than half of the F150's being sold are not being used as work trucks. I drive past a couple of schools on my way home from work and there are lines of trucks picking up kids from school. Most of those trucks are being driven by moms. In fact, most of these and every other truck 1/2 ton or smaller truck on the road are just daily drivers.

In my economics class today, the teacher asked who had a SUV or truck and actually needed the fullsizes. Out of the 160 students, only 2 could not move to a car or minitruck without loss of ablity. Most people do drive trucks and large SUVs due to the extra safety they feel in it. Walk thru my school parking lot and you will find 2 or 3 trucks with a ball and reciver in the hitch.
