extra part for my AF1
extra part for my AF1
I was wondering about a rubber washer that came with my AF1 intake. I do not see it in the instructions anywhere and was curious about where it went. The only place I could think of is between the tube and the bracket. I also received a big piece of foam and did not know where that went either I hope it isn't suppose to wrap around the tube by the heat shield. That would look awful. Thanks, Jeff
There is a small rubber gromet,I guess you could call it a washer that mounts between the air damn and the mounting bracket under it. It is a vibration damper. There is a screw hole in the middle of it it that helps.
I believe the foam you are refering to was probably wrapped around the intake tube to protect it while in shipment.

I too got that washer I couldn't think of a place to put it so I put it between the tube and the mounting bracket. I don't know for sure if that is the right place for it as it is not mentioned in the directions.
I gotta tell ya the I am SOO impressed with the intake. It sounds and feels great!!! Money well spent if you ask me. I also have the Xcal2 with it and feel it is a match made in heaven.
I don’t have a rubber washer it's hard nylon. In Fig-18 the instructions say “insert the supplied pre-assembled bolt on the slotted portion of the bracket into the threaded grip-nut…” my bolt wasn’t pre-assembled so I called Airforce One Performance at 1-888-788-4648, spoke to Evert, and he gave me this sequence for the bolt assembly.

I got the same flat washer, its different than the blue vibration dampner on the air dam...I agree, it prolly is intended to go with the tube hold-down screw.
Bigdummy, i'm with ya on that...the XCAL2 and intake is a perfect match, the exhaust brings it all together though
