PCM Reflashed or Update
What do i got?
Hello everybody,
It's my first post here and question, I just picked up my 05 supercab from the dealer, build date is 02/05 from the dealer. I bring it for the 5k service and ask for a PCM reflash. I told the about the lack of power, lagging, throttle response, slow on uphill, passing, that it takes a while before the rpm kicks in when i step on the gas, I even tell them that i could'nt even keep up on a FX4 thats pulling a 26 ft boat
. Basically i insist in reflash for throttle response.
Service advisor says theyre going to plug it in to see what code im missing since it could be anything else.
Here's what the paperworks says when its done. ( I've tried to post a pic but it won,t let me)

Condition: C/S WHEN ACCELERATING OR DRIVING UPHILL VEHICLE LACKS POWER.
Cause: COULD NOT DUPLICATE, VEHICLE OPERATES AS DESIGN AT THIS TIME.
Correction: EEC TEST/PASS, MONITOR ROAD TEST/ BARO 158hz,O2's SWITCHED PROPERLY,LFT'S 1.5%, MAF .85-4.2V. COULD NOT DUPLICATE CONCERN, VEHICLE OPERATES PROPERLY AT THIS TIME. INSTALLED UPDATED CALIBRATION FOR PCM

Seems to me that what i got is an update, not a reflash. any difference between those two? I have look for the sticker under the hood, with no luck of finding it. I didn't notice any changes in the truck but it idles more roughly now. Do i need to bring it back to another dealer for a reflash. I dont mind coughing up some bux just to get it done correctly. What's the best complain or weapon out there to have it done the next time. I really want this reflash.

Sorry to hear your getting poor response from your engine. I would say you can either disconnect the battery, follow the instructions in the manual to re-set everything then re-teach it how to go, or insist from this stealership or another ( if you must ) for another reflash, ( you still got to teach it how you drive ) OR do a search for a good programmer ( a whole bunch of the guys
on this site have done that ) and your truck will probably wake up then, I haven't read about too many guys on this site who have programmed their trucks having problems after that, most just rave about the things flying around like crazy. Good luck ..
