Can the Audiophile Headunit be swapped into the basic single CD factory system? I know the Audiophile SYSTEM has an amplifier, I want to be sure its only there for the Sub, and that it has an internal amp for the regular door speakers. All the connections on the back look identical (at least in the pictures).

yes. but it has some type of internal crossover too and your door speakers will no longer play the low frequency BASS. Which sounds crappy without having a sub. But if you are going to install a sub you should be fine.

I had swapped an audiophile in briefly, but later sold it. I prefer my full range single cd player hooked up to my MTX amp and sub.
