Anyone here just put the sway bars on with stock shocks? Does it make a big difference on handling? I dont want to upgrade shocks for now.

You can upgrade your sway bars without changing shocks.

If you just add a rear sway bar you will noticed a difference.

Keep in mind that a hellwig front sway bar is not hollow like the stock front sway bar, it is a larger diameter and will also make a big difference in handling. If you want the full benifits of sway bars you would be making a good choice to do both.

Just a note, if you are driving a four wheel drive and use it off road alot then sway bars may not be a good idea for you as they do not allow your suspension to articulate. therefore they take away from your off road performance.

I agree, after changing both the shock and installing the rear sway bar, I personally feel the cornering confidence I have gained with the rear sway outweight the benefits of the new shocks.

First sway bar, after shocks get really bad, then get new shocks. I hear there are new Rancho adjustables avaliable for the 2004 F150.

I'm waiting on the Edelbrock IAS shocks for the f150. I had them on my Tahoe and they were incredible.

Has anyone heard about availability for the '04 f150?

Not sure about the sway bars, though. My truck is often off-road, although I don't do any rock hopping where suspension articulation would be a problem.

well boys i have the OLD, OUT OF DATE 2003 MODEL so maybe u dont want to hear from me- but i noticed a quite a difference in cornering just by changing my shocks to rancho rsx's. and they seem to be getting better as i put more miles on them- have about a thousand miles on them now. cheap mod and fairly good results.

Dan.
