Lift question

Ive seen posts where a people have put a 2 or 2.5 in lift kit ( autospring, daystar or whatever) in their 2wd OR 4WD and it makes either of them level. How can the same spacer make a 2wd or a 4wd level? Am i missing something? I dont think i have heard of many 2wd owners having to add blocks......

I believe that the 2wd's sit like 2 inches lower in the back. Not sure but I think so.

Thats correct.

IMO if you were going to lift a 2WD. Do it right. Buy a 2.5" Leveling Kit with the factory 4WD rear blocks.

I believe the 4x2's sit about 2 inches lower in the front and rear compared to a 4x4. If you add a 2.5 inch leveling kit to the front of a 4x2 and a block in the rear it will put you at just about the same height as a stock 4x4. However, your rear end will still be two inches or so taller than the front, and most people want their truck to sit level. That probably why most 4x2 and 4x4 owners don't install a block or add-a-leaf with their leveling kits.

unless someone is going for a "lifted" look i think it is better to put a 2" kit in a 2wd and leave the rear alone. I have 33's on mine this way and it sits almost level. by putting blocks or add a leaf in the rear i would still have the rake and even more space in the wheel well. my tires fill my wheel wells much more than my buddys fx4 on the same tires. hes acctually thought about taking the blocks out to have a better look.
