4.6 vs. Crate 350

Im not the type to race my truck normally, but what happened was my trash talkin cousin owns a 84 Chevy Reg cab shortbox 4x4 with 32's. crate 350 with headers. puts out around 300HP 8K on the whole truck built from scratch wins shows wherever it goes. but enuf bout his ride. Only performance add-ons for my 4.6 is straight pipe dual exhaust, and a superchips 1714 on 91 tune. won 2 outa 5 races. approx. 1/4 mile, always i within car length every time. This tuner is definitely worth every penny. I was happy to keep up let alone win a couple. but that is my story had to share it with all the faithful ford community. now im gonna have a cigerette.

Wow. I think my 4.6 needs that! How much for it, and how does it compare with a Troyer XCal2?

I couldnt tell you how it compares to the Troyer pkg. i purchased my tuner at NAPA so i could charge it and make 2 payments on it. the 91 tune is the best, but the 87 is what ill have to run most of the time, not ready to shell out 2.40/gal every 5 days. it was more expensive than the Xcal-2, but im kinda loyal to my local Napa, thats why i purchased it there, if u can get away with w/o noise restriction, the straight pipe on this 4.6 really screams. i dont have a tach on my STX, but i found the tach on the trip display, goes up to about 5800RPM. really pleased with this tuner. and will make me buy a new set of tires that are sticky soon.
