MERGED X2: PIE - AUX in sneak peek
Posting on the Logjam forums:
I love the fact I'm personally responsible for it... what an **** I am.
Logjam Electronics was notified by P.I.E. today that the price of their new FRD04-AUX would need to increase. Consequently, we had to raise the price. We posted a notice on our website regarding this new price and want to assure everyone who had already ordered the product that the original price will be honored. We are not the only retailer who has increased the price of the product as others have had to follow the new pricing structure as well. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but have little control in the matter.

As for selling the cheaper one on e-bay - it's called capitalism. If you don't like it move to friggen' red commmie China. Supply and demand baby!

If you notice it was priced the same as the FRD03-Aux. They screwed up and would have gotten burned even worse had the problem not been brought to their attention by the manufacture. In addition it was unfair to the companies that DID have their pricing correct and were losing orders to a few folks that unknowingly and illeagally had much lower prices. And if that wasn't enough, that pricing faux pas could have cost logjam their contract with PIE and wouldn't be able to sell PIE products. Yeah, I really took advantage of others...

I didn't realize that you were the price police...Do you go by Wal-Mart and Target to let them know that they have their items priced wrong??

And just how do you know the other merchants are so "honest" anyway?
I don't think that anyone knows the entire story about what happened, and most of us don't care except for the fact that we have to now pay more money for something that is a bit overpriced in my opinion. I thought it was overpriced at 62$ - now definately I will wait to see if the price goes down before I buy another for our other vehicle.
Honestly - tell me how much you think it costs them to manufacture them? Sure there is development, prototyping, line tooling, distribution, etc. but 100 dollars/unit... How much of that is pure profit...
Perhaps they all are just following one of the most basic rules of economics = supply vs. demand.
