I would go to your insurance man this morning and have them cut you a check, then go over to a Ford dealer and trade her off. I bet you could get the Ford family plan still today and have another new shiny flawless baby in your driveway by tonight.

What does she propose to do?

She have a job?

She have a car?

A stereo?

That stupid phone?

A license for that kid? (Sorry, I got carried away)

I get so tired of the slack jawed, vacant stare, shrugged shoulder thing when you talk to some people about personal accountability.

Good luck.

My sister-in-law is the same way, spends so much time on her cell phone and text messaging and ont he internet and pays absolutely no attention to what the kids are doing. They could be killing each other and she'd have no clue unless theyw ere so loud it interrupted her phone conversation. Pisses me off to see people like that. Hopefully the damage is covered by her, at least the deductable, not including what your insurance will go up as a result of making a claim.

If it were me, depending on what answers (and attitude) I got out of her, a call to child services might be in order.

She is obviously incapable of caring for her child when they are right next to her, imagine what happens at home.

Everyone is missing the obvious problem here.....the kids a "CHEVY' man in the making

Seriously...never in a million years would I see a three-year-old and think he would be throwing rocks at cars.

A few years ago, when I had my '01 Ranger, after mowing one fine afternoon, I look at the side of my truck, and notice a pile of white landscaping rocks up and down the side, on the ground. I think to my self, hrm, that's funny, I don't have white landscaping rocks... then I look at my truck. Sure enough, looked like someone had a shotgun party, with my truck as a backstop. I look up the street at a bunch of little kids. I start walking up the street, looking for someone with landscaping rocks out front. I never did find em. Hard to place blame. That happens again with the F1fiddy, I'm rolling thru some living rooms.

Sorry to hear that man! I would be feeling the same way you are. I had 1 little rock take some paint off my truck and I was angry about that. Who knows what I would have done in your case.

What ever happened to teaching children to respect other people's property? This is the PARENT(S') responsibility, entirely, but when they're barely able to manage their own lives, you see what happens. When mom or dad just don't pay enough attention to Jr. or Missy, this is what happens. And as they grow, you can bet the problem gets worse.

My hat's off to you for handling the matter very sensitively, with the child in mind. Too bad his mother doesn't do the same.

Oh, and I hope your truck is restored to better than new.

Where is the PAPA!

Now you all know where I'm going with this one!

This is the regular state of affairs in this country today. Either bring back the "Family" or give it up. We are going to pay and pay and pay one way or the other. Get used to it.

Rough one....
Sorry to hear about your damage.
Just this past Friday evening, a kid was riding his bike & fell over on my wife's Cirrus & left a small mark.
Thankfully, it could be rubbed & buffed out.
Hope you fell better, once the Truck is fixed.

If she's as short on cash as she's "claiming" she should at least be made to
pay the deductable one way or another, ( borrow from friend or family )
NO WAY she should get off scott free, there has to be a line of responsibility
she should be accountable for.... another example of how 90% of the time
someones on a cell they probably could have waited to make the call..

The problem is a 3-year old cannot be negligent in the eyes of the law and the parent or guardian only has to use reasonable care watching them.

My homeowners insurance paid a claim for me years ago when my son Jackie threw a rock and dinged a mini van at football practice, but he was 16
