You can get a great deal all during the year with lots of haggling and discussion. This is a great deal without having to mess with the dealers. If you have financing lined up, just walk in and pick out what you want and sign the papers. I was able to use the college grad program, Home Depot cash and 0% financing from Ford. I am a happy customer and feel like I got a great deal. All that matters when buying anything is feeling good about your purchase.

I don't know how anyone could consider it NOT a good deal. I just bought an 05 Lariat 4x4 Supercab and the family plan knocked off $5859.35 from the start, PLUS the $3000 rebate, PLUS my 99 Ranger trade in.

I think it was a "good" deal. My 05 Lariat ended up costing me LESS than my 99 Ranger 4x4.

Just my .02.

This was a big **** power move for Ford. I went to the dealership on Saturdayfor service. I kid you not it looled like I was at walmart the day after Thanksgiving. You will be seing A LOT of new fords on the road. I don't see them bring this back next year unless on of the other big Three (3) does it. Besides sale I thkn the big three saw this as a way to get soem attention away from Nissan and Honda. Even though they both aren't my gig, they are solid rides and will take a little away from the big three, and a little is a lot in this industry.

Actually Thrill, you'd be surprised. Ford has already extended it till Oct and we are hearing rumors it may be a permanent thing...kinda like Saturn has been doing. The dealers like it, we actually make more than on the give away ad unit deals. It takes all the hagglin away from some of these arsehole dealers. Ford also lowered the rebates and they are a little ahead there. Who knows..it may be around awhile.

SAJEFFC, where'd you hear that? It's all speculation in my neck of the woods. I've heard that GM may extend it to include '06 models, but we'll see come Tuesday. I'm keeping my eyes and ears open.. it is my livelihood after all.

When would be the best time to shop for an 05 then?

I have the x-plan through my company, and I see we get some pretty damn good deals at times; which may work in my favor.

When (as far as what month between now and December) might I find the best opportunity for 05 blowout and rebates?

EDIT: Interesting - If it's extended until October, then I'll be doing OK!

I guess we'll wait to find out.

I bought my truck july 5th 05 and the family plan started the following monday. I was so pissed but i got a great deal. So i went to 2 other dealer after I bought my truck to see how much I over paid and it turns out that with all the incentives it came out to the same price. I saved $7700 off the sticker. I went into the dealer to lease and it was cheaper to buy. Check out what deals they may have now, it may be just as good as the family plan. Good Luck.

1 thing to add. At my dealer because I asked for a price quote over the internet they took off about $500 from the price.

I was not planning on getting a truck but they took $8000 off the price and than the $3000 rebate for not using Ford financing. Sticker on the truck said $44,500 and I paid $35K out the door with a 6 year extended warrantee.

See, I went on fmcdealer.com...and I didnt see anything. I usually am on there every day as it is, doing my master certification thing. But, I still haven't seen a thing. Maybe your internet manager is pulling your leg, go threaten him with his job unless the truth comes out and then report the results to me, will ya?

The Ford dealer across the street said the Family Plan (A-plan) ended today and you whould have had to have the papers signed yesterday to even get the A-plan pricing.

I'm in the same boat.

I purchased my '05 on June 4. I got over $8,000 off sticker with all of the rebates, incentives, Home Depot, college discount, etc.

Without all of that and A-plan, I still ended up with a beter deal.
