I have the 16612 and it ROCKS!! It rips on throttle, but off it's mellow and very tolerable on long drives. The fitment and quality are tops. I don't have experience with Borla, and they seem to make very quality components, but Troyer Perfomance has stated through dyno testing that the Magnaflow will realize the most gains on our trucks. I would chat with him to see if he has tested Borla or not. I keep asking my wife to drive my truck up the street just so I can hear the exhaust bark! Man I have issues...

I don't think the Magnaflow is loud enough for me personally. Is the Borla exhaust any louder?

Thumper, from a 2001/1995 Mustang GT/Cobra perspective, the Magnaflow was a lot louder than the Borla, this will probably hold true for our trucks as well. Flowmaster would probably be among the loudest. Just my guess though.

Sounds pretty good. Im sure it'd sound even better with 2 of the cats removed.

Can someone with the Magnaflow exhaust compare?

I have had both the Flowmaster 40 SIDO on my truck and now have the Magnaflow SIDO Catback. The Flowmaster is definately louder than the Magnaflow at all RPM's when they are both new.

Now that I have about 6 months on the Magnaflow I think is loader than it was. I still think the Flowmaster is louder but they are pretty close. I will tell you that the Magnaflow doesn't drone at highway speeds like the Flowmaster does.

From a performance perspective there is no comparison IMO. The Magnaflow made a huge difference when I upgraded from the Flowmaster. If you are like me and are interested in only performance, I would go with the Magnaflow.

I have a Magnaflow SIDO on mine and I love the sound of it! A competent growl under acceleration, yet it mellows out to nice hum at highway speeds.

I was afraid the Magnaflow was going to be too quiet for my taste (mainly after listening to the audio clip on their website) but as soon as I fired it up for the first time in my garage I knew it was perfect!

Do you happen to know the p/n of the magnaflow muffler you have?

DrPaul's exhaust sounds weak, I am looking for more of a SCREAMING at higher RPM's, his sounds too smooth, sounds like it's hardly working.

If you're going to go with the Magnaflow make sure that you check the build date of your truck. I believe that may is the cut off date for the '04 model exhaust. Anything after that uses the '05 model. I called Magnaflow with my build date and they made sure that I had the right part number.

As far as fitment goes, I had no problems at all. The biggest problem I had was taking the old exhaust out. (I borke a tooth in the process, but that is a whole other story )

In terms of sound, I have to agree with Crash on this one. I've had mine about 6 months too and it does seem to be getting a bit louder.

Hope this helps. I would definately reccomend a Magnaflow to anybody.

Neither exhaust is probably going to give you any kinda sound but the magnaflow will atleast give you proven performance gains above all others. Shouldnt be a difficult decision man.

I was thinking about doing Magnaflow SIDO. How much can you hear it just crusing down the road with all the windows up? I've read a millions times there is no drone...but how about just the sound. Not sure if I want to hear it all the time. Just when punching it or with the windows down.
