It's not just for offroading, the bigger rims are heavier and ride a lot rougher...it's the look, you know? I prefer the look of a 15" rim stuffed inside of a 44" Swamper myself...

 

No, it wasn't used. Bought it brand new with 17 miles on it 7-30-04. It's not listed under optional equipment nor is the 6 CD changer or 18's listed within any optional packages. My previous vehicle had the 6 CD changer in it and it spoiled me. I remember specifically when I test drove mine I asked the salesman about the CD player and I'm 100% sure he said single. A day later when I'm loading my first CD it asked me to select a "slot" and showed 6 available. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was a 6 CD setup. I scoured the stickers from the windows and I did not pay for it. (Theoretically, I'm sure I paid somewhere)

Now the wheels aren't something that's not high on my list so I never gave them another thought until I saw this thread and wondered what size mine were. I looked at my stock BFG's and they are P275/65/R18. I assumed that meant they were 18's and I immediately got out all the stickers and there is no where on the stickers where 18's are listed. It only has the 17's under the standard section.

I'd say chalk one up for the little guy, but in reality I'm very pleased with my truck. I mentioned in a thread a few days ago that I'm a CPA and a General Contractor. My bed is full usually followed by a full trailer and 4 wheeling thru muddy job sites EVERY day. I work the crap outta my truck. I service it regularly and take care of it though. No vibration, no rear end shudder and when clean it's a classy lookin' truck.

My son LOVES my truck, he's 3 yrs old this past June. He loves cars and trucks, especially big trucks. Some times when he and I are in the garage he rubs my tires and says, "Da-Da's big truck." So, Saturday I took him 4 wheeling on some local jeep trails, as they call them. Performed great. I was a tad wide for some spots and took some tree limb brushes to the upper cab area, but couldn't see any scratches.

One last place to check would be inside your gas fuel/filler door. See if there is a sticker that shows the 17" or 18" tire size. My sticker has the 275/65/18 size listed and I can't remember if lists the recommended tire pressure too?

 

mine came with 18's, but I got 2 flat tires (unrepairable), so I bought my buddy's 17's from him after he bought a lift,wheels and tires.

It was too hard to find a good looking tire for an 18" wheel.

 

Mine has the same thing and it says 35psi for the front and rear.
