Cant decide (bedcover)

Hey guys...im finally getting around to buying a bedcover. I read the long bedcover thread and cant decide between these two extangs. Cant decide if i should go with the extang RT or the Extang full tilt. Anyone have these?

I don't own one, but if your decision is down to those two, go with the Extang R/T.

Ditto.

Have you considered a Undercover?

You might find some useful suggestions in the Bedliners forum.

Wow, I was looking through that forum and found this tonneau cover. VERY nice! I love the way it is perfectly flat and almost invisible from the sides. Something else to add to the list! This is the LT Sport cover Xtreme Flat.

Bro, do yourself a HUGE favor and go with the Extang Full-Tilt!! it looks fantastic and more importantly it is unbelievably handy. My brother has the R/T and is kicking himself for not going Full-Tilt. Think about it... if you want to throw a load in the bed with a regular cover its time to undo snaps or velcro, etc..with a full-tilt just raise the cover, load and lower it. You also have the option to unsnap it if need be. But heres the BIGGIE... the top can be completely removed in less than a minute by one person.. yourself! Try that with a reguler tonneau or worse yet with a fiberglass or plastic hardtop. To remove completely you just undo the two side stuts, get in the bed raise up the complete top attached to its frame and it pops off its hinge... it can easily be left in your garage, etc. to be popped back on later, This can not be done with any other top! And keep in mind, it can still be rolled up, etc like all the rest!!!!!!!! The other day I needed to haul two wheelbarrows, a few sacks of concrete, shovels, generator, etc. With a hardcover I would not have been able to, with a regular tonneau I would have had to do a lot of unsnapping or unvelcroing, and rolling up but with the full tilt I just popped it COMPLETELY off and replaced it that evening. Dude, it makes so much sense, plus its heavy-duty to boot!! (it is impossible to raise this top on its hinge via its two gas struts in front of a Home-Depot without getting at least one compliment, I kid you not!!)... Good luck. Wow, did I just write all that?

well stuka...i think you just sold me on the extang lol. It seems like it fits my needs the best. Cant wait to get one...i've been having to use those bungee cords to hold stuff down in the bed from blowing out and its about time i get a bedcover. Anyone know where i can get it for the best price? Also..should i get snaps or the snapless? Some people have complained about the snaps in the winter.

Hey Devin... as far as snaps vs velcro, I went with the snaps. I live in the Northeast and have had absolutely no problem with them in the winter (I installed the top last August) and don't forget, with the tilting option, chances are you wont have to undo one snap all winter, I didn't and I hauled plenty of stuff. One nice thing about Extangs snaps is that they give you two ways to mount the snaps on the channels, one setting for the summer and another for the winter (very simple to change back and forth). Even the bows which go across the bed are fully adjustable. I guess I went for the snaps because I like the look but I'm sure the snapless is just as good. I wish I could remember where I bought my top from....... If I can find my receipt I will let you know, I think I paid about $240. Funny, its not like me to go on like this but I was in your shoes about a year ago so I know how tough it is to get some decent info regarding Tonneaus. In my case a friend had just installed a Full-Tilt last July and after seeing it in action I was sold!! Take it easy Devin, you will love this top!! Later.

Wow. That LT Flat looks great. I thought I had it narrowed down to the K-Fold or Undercover. But now I'll have to look into the Extangs and this LT Flat. Oh well, more choices is better I guess!!!

I just received and installed an Undercover and have to say I am impressed with it's fit and finish. I'm a hard person to please but I have to say I'm satisfied with the Undercover. I especially like the way it closes with a "whoosh", it fits very solid on my 05 Supercrew. RCPilot out.
