Hood Scoop
Hood Scoop
My Roush Hood Scoop is in, but the insert is on back order. I haven't picked it up yet from the store so I don't have the instructions in front of me.
My question is...can the hood scoop be mounted without the insert and can the insert be installed after the hood scoop is mounted without harming anything...is the insert just a "stick-on" thing? I'm just really anxious to get this on and don't want to wait till next week for the insert.
OH...and by the way....I got my BFG All terrain 285/70/17's on now...will get pics of tires and hood scoop soon.

I believe you can put the hood scoop on and stick on the insert afterwards, but I'm not 100% certain on that. If it were me, I'd wait it out since it will be easier to install while it is off.
Patience my friend.

Okay, I just talked to my brother about mine. I didn't do the install or see the parts before they were installed, so I wasn't sure.
The scoop can be installed before the insert is put in place. The insert is held on with 3M tape, and can be applyed on or off the truck. You'll need to make sure that the inside portion of the scoop where the insert will adhere to is very clean though. Any dirt on there will cause problems over time.
That is pretty much what I thought, and why I said it would be best to wait to put it on there, because cleaning under there might be a pain. Here is the closest picture I have of the scoop, but you can't see the insert in the shadow. You can at least see the depth you will be working with though.
