Looking for a "take off" grille

I'm a bit confused here....I've seen the grille surrounds in body matching color, flat black, chrome (like my Lariat) and even gloss black on this forum....did all of your trucks come stock with these colors - or did some of you paint the surround?

I just added the Carriageworks billet replacement grille (very nice quality ) to my '05 Lariat and would prefer the gloss black surround to match my truck's paint.....anyone one have a "take off" surround that is gloss black or that I could paint??? If you do send me an e-mail and we can discuss....thx

I've got what you're looking for but mine is Arizona Beige. If anyone with that color Lariat is looking to trade I'm game, I like the chrome surround.

I have a Dark Stone surround and an XLT all black grille that is coming out as soon as my EBAY lariat grille arrives. Can't help you on the black but I am sure they are easy to paint.

Hey King Vinnie, if you (or anyone else) wants to do a swap, I have a black grille with a Dark Stone surround, perfect condition that I will swap even for a Lariat grille and surround. I'll pay shipping for mine, you pay shipping for yours... (Aprrox $17)

Paint it

I purchased a complete grill, surround with mounting brkts "package" for an FX4 real cheap (like $35) on E-bay. I removed my Lariat "package" and dropped in the FX4 "package". I painted the FX4 grill Arizonia Beige and the rest bright red to match my two-tone (E4/AQ) Lariat. Now I have a complete "package" hanging in the garage as a spare ... just in case some cell-phone talking, map reading, hair combing, sight-seeing driver runs into me. Painting was a breeze. I used the new Krylon Fusion paint that is made especially to adhere to plastic. No complaints yet.

Im like you, I wanted to keep an extra grille for that terrible day when something happens. However, there are folks on here who wanted to trade a Lariat grille for an XLT grille, I already have a lariat grille on my XLT, but it would be worth shipping charges to trade even with someone and have a back up lariat grille. The only problem is mine is in Dark Stone, and that is not one of the more popular colors, although I do love it.
