Anyone have the Okole seat covers in hot weather? Is the hot material really that bad?
Is the material thick? How does it compare to the xlt seat material themselves?
And, the loss of the map pocket. I use it alot. Any solutions? Or can they be made with a pocket?
Thanks for any help.

they can be made with map pockets I'm pretty sure. check the website.
They are not any 'hotter' than a normal seat, but since they are waterproof, if you are sweating, it will give your pants a damp feeling instead of soaking into the seat itself.

and no, the 'hot'? material is not bad. thick padding is backing the neoprene, they make seats much more comfortable.

I had them on an old Expedition, and loved them. I dont have any experience with the cloth on the new 04s, but in terms of comparing the Okoles to the cloth on my Expy - the Okoles gave the seats a smoother, more refined/finished look. The fitment is perfect, no wrinkling or bulging.
The material is thick too. Basically the underside of the seat cover is almost like a rubbery material which keeps the seat cover from sliding around. So, put the wet suit material and this rubbery material together and it makes for a pretty thick seat cover. I actually bought my Expy with the seat covers on, but I have heard that rubber backing makes them a little difficult to install, but I think its worth it.
In terms of heat, not really different....its not going to burn your @ss like leather.
I say get them and you won't be disappointed at all.

What do you know about how the colors hold up? Was thinking about getting the the center in red but was concerned about it fading and turning pink or something.

suprpntr,
I live in Florida and have had the black seats on for less than a week. As far as retaining heat, it isn't noticeable over the stock seats and personally I think they make the factory seats more comfortable. Yes you can order them with map pockets and and I can't speak for the color fading.
Overall these are top notch and a very high quality product. Also, the smell only lasted the first couple of days. Check my gallery for pics.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, a great help. Both the black and the red look pretty sharp! Think I am going to go for it, just have to decide the color. Seems like a very expensive investment but I havent' seen very many unhappy buyers.
you won't regret it. I wasn't sure if I was going to get red at first either. some people might think it is too much. but I like it and it goes with the color scheme of the whole truck. so I desided to go for it and I love it. I think they look sweet. definitely gives your truck a unique custome look. and yes it is quite expensive I agree. when I first heard of these seat covers I thought people were crazy to be spending that kind of money for seat covers. but with some research and seeing pics on how well they looked. I think they are a step above most other seat covers. good luck

05-STX-4x4,
If you go to www.wetokole.com you can look at their logos. I believe they do have the STX and you can specify what color you want. I only wish they could have done the rear seats too.
