mute wire??

does anyone know what color or pin# the mute wire is for the stereo. i put in my new kenwood cd player and it would be great if it muted when the reverse sensor starts beeping. if i have it turned up i can hardly hear the beeping, and i need something to grab my attention before i run over a honda.

Not sure of the color but it's pin 20 in the connector. I have the conn pinout but don't know how to paste a pic in the forum.

mute wiring

I'm surprised to hear that your radio does not mute when in reverse with the sensor system...I had a 04 supercab with the audiophile radio and when I placed it in reverse and got close to something...the radio would mute down to a low level and the beeping was clearly heard...now it's a different case with my 05 larait supercrew...your right on the fact that is does not lower the radio at all....

Heres a Expy, pins are the same, but colors may differ on f150.

They are almost the same as the Expy but some are different. The mute you are after is the same.
Countyboy's pic didn't come out too well...
Here is a clearer one.

well guys, it didnt work like i was hoping. i spliced into the wire and everything, but my receiver needs to see a ground, which it doesnt through this wire. i checked it with a test light and i dont think its positive either?? i might not have gotten it into the wire all the way though, i checked it after i spliced it back together. anyone else know what kinda output is given through the rss? it would be great if i could even hook it up to a relay or something, i miss the automatic mute feature... but oh well, the direct connect for my ipod and sub make it all worth it...
