All Magnaflow owners...

Hey guys...if you have a SISO (rear side exit) can I see a pic of your exhaust tip? I just installed mine and left the bubble wrap on the exhaust tip the whole time so it was protected. When it was all installed, I took the bubble wrap off and noticed that the actual pipe inside came awful close to lip of the exhaust tip. It doesn't seem normal to me.

So, please can I see a pic of your exhaust tip?

Thanks,
Bryan

they are all like that. it pissed me off when i openned my box and saw that. They dont take the time to cut the pipe short and weld the tip on. They just leave the pipe and slide the tip over it. I am thinking of getting in there with a cutoff wheel and cutting it short. Looks stupid if you ask me. Its a good thing its on the pass side and I dont have to look at it everytime i get in!

Has anyone called and complained to see if they would send out a corrected one? I will be calling Magnaflow 0730 this Monday morning when they open and test their customer service.

Even my cheap a$$ flowmaster on my 2000 F150 looked better and it rusted.

The only question I can answer is why I got the SISO...whether it's true or not (which it probably doesn't matter) I believe in Bernoulli's Principle, one single large outlet has less pressure and higher flow...which I think is important for exhasut. But don't listen to me...I'm no expert, I just try to think logically. Now, on the other hand, straight pipes from each header would be ideal.

the reason I have SISO is my own personal opinion... i hate dual exhaust straight out the back of a pickup truck. I really really wish though that magnaflow would of made a dual exhaust, that exits on each side with the same bend as the SISO. I dont like the 45 degree bends like the gibson, but more of a 90 degree bend, one coming out each side behind the rear tires

Silva...you won't have the same problem with the SIDO (e.g. 15834 dual rear exit system). The tips are gorgeous 4" X 18" polished SS that clamp/weld to the tailpipes far forward of the rear bumper.

I got single just because I like the look of a nice BIG stainless tip and piping behind the rear wheel. Looks good from behind too, you see that big thing hanging down and it is even with the truck.

FYI - here are the tips that come with the SIDO Magnaflow cat-back systems:

There is no problem with being able to see the exhaust pipe inside the tip!

Hey ddellwo - how are those tips attached? Can't see a weld nor clamps??? I ask because I have the same set up - but think the clamps look tacky under there - and am going to visit a muffler shop and have my tips permanetly welded - would't care if you couldn't see them so well from the side.

HotLap:

They're installed using 2-1/2" EasySeal Stainless Steel Band Clamps from NAPA. I screwed up a couple of the Magnaflow clamps during my install and had to scavenge the clamps that came with my tips.

I bought the NAPA clamps after contacting Magnaflow for some replacement clamps and getting the run around. Ended up that I liked the NAPA clamps so much (they are of a much higher quality and can be torqued down tight!) that I went out and bought them for all of the connections in my system!

I also looked into having the connections welded, but couldn't find any local exhaust shops that could weld stainless steel.
