I don't even see them on there? Lol Must be some really good clamps! ddellwo, How do you like it so far? I'm thinking about buy the same setup. Did you install it yourself, if so, how did you do the one on the driver's side that everyone says there isn't a hole for the hanger? I'd like to do it myself to save the $100 to install. Did you buy from Troyer? If not, where and how much? haha, enough questions huh? Thank you in advance if you could answer these for me through the thread or drop me an email. Thanks, Duke

Hey Duke -

The clamps are there -- you can see the bolts that tighten them right above the chrome tip. I oriented the clamps "up" so that the bolts would be out of view from the rear of the truck.

The installation itself was not exactly a walk in the park -- I just might have lost my way to heaven with all the cussing and cursing I did in getting the system set-up and aligned the way I wanted! I would definitely recommend having a buddy available for the install -- mainly to act as a "gopher" for tools, etc. (I can't tell you how many times I crawled out from under the truck just to grab another tool, or a socket that had rolled away from me!)

As is usually the case, the problem with these modifications is that you only do them once -- if I had to do another installation of the same system, it would go much smoother since I now know exactly how to orient the pipes and exactly what things to do and not to do!

I had no problem with the driver's side hanger location, since I don't have the factory towing package on my truck. The problem folks have is that the Ford towing package uses one of the frame holes that Magnaflow also wants to use for their hanger. If you don't have the factory receiver hitch, you shouldn't have a problem.

I bought mine through Hott Exhaust, and the cost to my door was around $383.00 -- that was far and away the best price I could find anywhere on the internet. If you tell Hott Exhaust that you are a member of F150online, they will give you a nice extra discount to get to this price!

While the installation was a bit of a pain, I LOVE the system! The sound is awesome -- a nice deep growl to let you know you've got something under the hood, but not so loud that it screams out "Boy Cruiser" as you fly down the highway! I was actually concerned that the Magnaflow system might be a little too quiet for my taste -- but I have to say that from the moment I fired it up, I knew it was just right!

Highly recommended, now that it's on!

Awesome, ddellwo, that is really good news. Minus the part about people with the factory tow package...b/c I'm one of them. Hmm, wonder how I'll pull this one off? Hints? I just don't want to pay an exhaust shop $100 to come up with a solution for me.

I was going to buy my Magnaflow from Hott Exhaust also but I heard bad reviews about their customer service and sending out tips with scuffs on them. Ordered from a reputable vendor instead and got a price lower than advertised on the internet also.

I called Magnaflow today and talked to Brent about the inside SS pipe at the lip of the exhaust tip. He said it was designed that way for 2 reasons...1.) To eliminate noise inside the cab and 2.) To help prevent the tip from turning gold/blue in color from the heat. I tried to purchase a new tip, but instead he recommended I go to an exhaust shop and have them cut the tip off, shorten the inside SS tube and then weld the exhaust tip back on.

Anybody have install hints on the SIDO system for those of us who have the factory tow package?

I had the same concern when I installed my MagnaFlow SISO. I however didn't notice it until the system was on, at which I point I said "that looks like crap"...but oh well. It's only noticeable for a little while, shortly the inside will turn black from the exhaust and you won't even notice it...

Here's a pic of mine and what you're talking about at time of install. Don't have a current one but it's not noticable now unless you put your face into the tip.

BTW : HottExhaust has nothing to do with scuffed tips, the box is either drop shipped from MagnaFlow or shipped from Hott Exhaust's facility. They don't package it in any case, MagnaFlow does. However, customer service who knows.

Yep -- gotta say, DevilSun, that would bug me if I had to look at it every day! Hopefully it's more tolerable now that it's darkened up a little bit!

Regarding Hott Exhaust -- I had no trouble whatsoever. Actually, I was amazed at how quickly I received my system! I suspect a lot of the "trouble" people have had with Hott Exhaust might actually have more to do with Magnaflow's customer service than anything else. While I love the look and sound of my Magnaflow system, I have to say that I found their customer service (had to call for some advice on replacement parts) to be underwhelming, at best.

That makes sense. Thanks brypink2 for following through. I'll get my SISO hopefully before the end of the week. Gonna try and do a before and after wav sound file for you guys. But no promises. My microphone doesn't reach to the driveway yet.
