Ebay Leather Seats/ lumbar ****

Does any one know how to remove the lumbar **** on the side of our seats? Also for those who have changed their seat covers is it necessary to remove the plastic cover on the side of the seat to change the cover.

Any other information/ tips for changing the covers over would be great. Thanks

Just added leather seat covers to my XLT. I didn't have to remove the lumbar **** or anything else... just have to unplug the electric seat motors, seat belt switch etc. to take the bottom of the seat off. There is only four nuts on the bottom of the seat to remove.

Took me about 6 hours start to finish to do my seat covers, that included sewing in the panel in the back seat and figuring out how to remove the back seat in a Screw.

Best of luck... any more questions, please ask.... still fresh, just did it last weekend. Sure do like it!

I felt like i had to remove it because there are some plastic push pins that hold the seat cover down behind the cover, soooo.... Anyway, the **** just pops off. Take a screwdriver on either side and pry up on both sides. It should pop right off. It might take some "force" though. The recliner handle has a clip that you have to pop out to remove it. Good luck.

I've removed three of them, when I rebuilt my seats from two Lariat seats. Pull it straight off, but you better have a heapin bowl of Sterioids for breakfast...

I'm seriously considering buying the leather seat covers on ebay for my FX4. Sure would like to see some pics from you guys who have already done it. Especially how the rear seat turned out with the arm rest panel sewn in.

Here's what my font ones looked like after the cover swap:

There's a thread someplace with a guy that had them in a gray color with his back seat photos.
