Low Profile ToolBox Installed
Low Profile ToolBox Installed
Well I just thought that I'd toss up a few new pics of the Kobalt Black Diamond Plated Low Profile ToolBox that I got a couple of days ago.
I like the looks of it a lot, but it was definitely something that I couldn't do without. I'm going to have it sprayed with a gray color matched LineX as soon as I get around to having the bed sprayed (and not having my truck on a weekday for like 5 hours) I don't know about y'all, but that is also something that I definitely have to have done. The truck came with a bedmat, but that just ain't cut'n it!

That bedbox looks nice. I was thinking about a similar one from TSC. Its black powercoated but does'nt have the diamond tread. Yours has a really good look to it and has helped me decide what I should do.
Myself and a friend took our trucks into the line-x dealer on a Saturday around 9am and had both of our trucks done by 1pm. Check to see if the dealers there in Austin don't have weekend hours.

I tried to get the same one from lowes but they called me back (after i had ordered it) and said they couldnt get those anymore! This was in April. I got a similar one from the line-x dealer for $275 installed. I'm thinking that they can reduce the emblem size on the Kobalt and Craftsman toolboxes. Ray Charles could read that!!!
Here's something a little different for you to think about when it comes to toolboxes. My previous truck was a ranger so I had one of the toolboxes that sat on the bed rails. After selling the ranger for a new f150, the toolbox was useless so, my dad and I fabricated a stand for it to sit on, and now it sits perfectly below the bedrails.
Worked out great,

medik13,
The only reason we modified my toolbox was so I could still use it and not have to buy another one. But, what we done worked out good. I wanted it to sit below the bedrails a little so I didn't have to look at it all the time.
To make it we just welded up a frame out of angle iron, basically a table. That way I can still haul sheetrock and plywood with the tailgate down.
Painted the frame, and screwed it down.
