my lifted truck
thanks for all the comments, i am very happy with the way it turned out.
the wheels are procomp extreme 6089: 18x9, 6 on 135, 5" backspace
procomp extreme wheels
the install went pretty good, we had some trouble getting the lower control arms in the front rear cross member. we worked wednesday night and thursday night from 6:30pm to 1:30am, and started friday night at 7:00pm and test drove it at 2:30am. needless to say that was some long days, but to look at it now it is all worth it.
their is one bracket under the differential where the drive shaft bolts up that has to be cut, or more like trimmed to give the diff. room to come down. i will take some pics of the bracket and the place on the truck and post them.
for those of you wondering why i did not keep the bfg's. (i'll try to give you the short version). when i got the truck my local tire dealer special ordered a set of 33x13.50 xterrain tires and the extreme wheels for me. the wheels came in about a week later, but the tires did not. so we put the factory tires on the wheels so i could at least run them. after about 3 weeks of waiting the local tire dealer found out that the 33x13.50 had been recalled, release date unknown. so his supplier said the 35x13.50 xterrain would also fit with just a level kit and they would send them for the same price since we had waited so long. went they came in needless to say they would not fit. so my tire dealer found me the set of bfg's to put on the wheels, but when we put them on the extreme wheels, we going to have do some trimming. well it being a new truck i did not want to start cutting on it, so we put one on the factory wheels and they fit. my tire dealer said not to worry about the procomp wheels and tires, that he would find somebody to buy them. well after going in there numerious times, on the farm i go in there at least once a week maby more, and seeing them still sitting in his showroom, and then looking at all the lifted trucks on this site i decided that i wanted to lift mine. which i felt sorta bad anyway because it was my fault that my tire dealer had ordered a set of tires and wheels that would take a long time to sell, and that could not be sent back because we mounted them to see if they would fit.
i had no trouble running the bfg's with the daystar kit, that is not the reason i took them off. i would recommend these tires to anyone. they rode good, wore good, and pulled very well. i just liked the way the xterrains looked on the rims
if anyone has any other questions feel free to ask.
once again thanks for the comments.
