True Blue Lincoln LT Handles...
Just got my Lincoln LT handles back from my uncle. He painted them today to match my truck. I ordered them last week in Dark Shadow Grey, and scuffed them up so that he could seal and paint them:
...and then I picked them up today, reassembled them (Door handles were simple, tailgate handle was a beotch) and they are ready to be installed. I hope to install them in the morning, so if I am able to pics will be up sometime tomorrow! For now:
I think they are going to look sweet, but we will see tomorrow!

DAMN!T, you beat me to it!!!!!!!
I FINALLY got my paint from express paint just the other day after waiting almost 3 weeks (due to a mix up when they shipped out the first order) I got the blue, painted them, cleared them........and it looks like crap. The blue is perfect but the clear didn't seem to work right. I did it just as the directions said with several coats of clear and when I inspected them when I got home today, they are dull and not shiny at all, and have an orange peel look to them. So I scuffed them and re-cleared em and one of them came out a little shinier with orange peel and the other 2 dull again
. So I'll just strip the paint off of them and get the paint guys at our shop to spray em and they should look like yours. Those look VERY nice! Can you ask him if he used acrylic or laquer paint? I'd like to know what I did wrong to mine........Can't wait to see pics on the truck!

When you say "wet sand" i'm guessing you mean sand with about 2000 grit with water of course and then polish out right? What type of polish is usually used to remove the wetsanding scratches? I have some turtle wax rubbing compound and some polishing compound, and I have some 3M plastic polish also.....will any of that work?
Well, I was able to get the handles installed this morning. Things went smoothly, and I was able to do the three of them in about 2 hours taking my time. Tailgate was the easiest with the drivers door being the hardest. I found it easiest instead of trying to work the door handle out of the lever actuator rod, instead there is a clip that the is near the door latch. If you unhook this clip it makes it much easier to take the handle out (sorry for no pic!). Anyway, they match pretty much perfectly. I am so happy with this, and definately owe my uncle a 30 pack for this one! Here are the pics:
Drivers door:
Tailgate handle:
The pictures do not do the handles justice, as they look 10 times better in person than they do in the pics. Let me know what you guys think! I could not be happier with how they came out!

Looks great! I just had my bright red ones installed, along with the other lincoln and roush parts. She looks sweet! I'll post some pictures on the 4th when I get back to Vegas.
Those of you who don't have paintting skills, or family members who do...
What is it costing you guys to have the buckets painted? I've been wanting to do this to my Bright red FX4 ever since I saw the LT.

After having the handles on for the day, I realized how much of a pain it is going to be to keep then clean, as the only place to open them without leaving oily fingerprints is the back....Time to teach the wifey how to open the doors properly again!
