Burned out light in power window switch

One of the lights behind one of the power window switches is not working. Can anybody give me a quick description on how to replace?

Thanks.

Which switch is it? Drivers door or other? I know for the other doors, when you have the windows locked the lights turn off on the window switches for those doors.

I had one go out on the drivers door.... dealer replaced entire switch. Im going to guess those are LED's inside the switch, non replacable.

FYI. The switch for locking/unlocking the windows does not have a light in it.

Call Dealer
Make appointment
They will replace under warranty.
Drive back home after work is completed.

What if your truck is out of warranty, they have already replaced mine once when it was under warranty but now I have 83K and the lights are out again, what will they do or can I repair this myself, thanks!

Regardless, the entire switch has to be replaced. Can cannot just replace a bulb on this do-hicky. So, you can buy the part from a dealership, etc. and try to replace it yourself. You can just have the dealership replace it and pay the $$$. Or, you can do without the light.

I priced on Fordparts.com (I think that was the site) a while back and it was about $34. The module just pops out and the new one should just pop in, no big deal. It'll take longer to open the package than to install the part.

my driver side power window switch only lights up sometimes... just depends how hard I slam my door when I get in if it works or not. I swear my 04 is a wiring nightmare.

The power lock switch lights don't work on my drivers side while the power window switch doesn't light up on the passenger side. Been that way a while just been living with them not working. Is there a how to on his or do you just pry the old switch out and pop the new one in without having to remove the door panel?

I believe those lights are soldered surface mount leds..not replaceable. There have been a few members here that have done a replacement for a different color of the led. It is doable, but imo not worth the work involved, just replace the switch, much easier on the nerves.

I know this isn't the case, but I had noticed awhile back I thought my passenger door switches were all burnt out. I hit the passenger window lock switch, it was locked, after it was un-locked and open to the passenger to be privileged to put the window down their self, the lights came on. I checked the rear seats and they do the same, they turn off when locked, but light up when un-locked.
