Man here in cali hardly anybody puts there cars in the garage. My dad has his race car in the garage and the rest of the cars are in the driveway. Plus my truck is to tall and long to fit in our little garages. Mostly people have projects that they keep in the garage like motorcycles or offroad trucks and stuff like that.

We too have had one hell of a time parking this thing in DC and down where we live too. Thank GOD for the Backup sensors - I will always get them now I am hooked.

I live in a codo and have a car port. My neighbors think I am crazy and call it the battle cruizer... I have to let the front end hang out about two feet (if I back all the way in I cannot open the doors) and there is about 2 inches clearance on each side of the carport (there are pilings that divide the carport not walls, the doors have to line up just perfectly to open). Before I bought it I asked the salesperson if I could try to park it (explained situation). My wife and I played for about 30 min trying to find the optimum "pre-parking approach pattern" just to get it into a position where I can back it into the stall. Once I slid her in and out of that port a couple of times - I knew she was the truck for me.

I have had the truck for some time now, and some days I nail it ~perfect parking job... most days.. I feel like a retard doing 3 point turns.. I'll never buy another condo again! Of course my neighbors make me feel better by standing outside and watching cheering when I make it first shot...

Most of the trucks in my neighborhood just park it in the street.

When I pull out I almost hit the fence that devides the properties - it is soo close my wife will not pull out or park it (she is afraid of hurting my feelings if she scratches it)

The actual "opening" for my door is 93-3/4" after subtracting for the trimwork around the door. Even if I could get this extra space back, I don't believe I could get the mirrors in without folding them back. And if I've had a ****tail or two, my guess is I'd best leave the truck in the driveway!

I had to take and tie that release rope on the opener up in a bunch of knots to shorten the rope. Now it's still there but it's not hitting.

You said you are going to put wheels and tires? With the lack of room you have now is that an option?

I never tell the ladies ahead of time how big it is, I let them find out for themselves...

My regular cab short bed has about a foot on each side (front, back, and both sides) in my 1 car garage. It is still pretty tight though It was hilarious seeing my friend park his Tiburon in there...I swear he could have parked it sideways!

Wow, my opening is 107" wide(9ft wide door) , so i can see where 93 would be a problem. I didnt realize they made smaller doors, i guess builders in NC know people are gonna have trucks.

I just moved into my apt. here in bozeman for grad school- i parked behind the house for the first week. i'd pull up the one way alley and 3 pt park the truck... it would stick out 2' into the alley. so unbeknownst to me, the garbage truck makes his route down that alley. he comes to my truck that first thirsday, and cant get past (and its the beginning of the alley) couple hours later I get a call from the city saying that i may no longer park there, but if i come down to the county courthouse, they will give me a beautiful red and white sticker that i may affix to my left rear bumper to let me park on the street instead of the alley--for $60... i hate red and white stickers on my bumper... especially when im forced to have it.

Wait until you're driving your 6'4" truck through parking garages.

A lot of garages around town are 6'5 or 6'6. Which is fine for the truck, but your antenna will scrape along the pipes and beams of the ceiling and the sound sends shivers down your spine...

When I get my Satellite Radio, I'll probably remove my antenna and replace it with a small stubby one so it doesn't happen.

9' Garage Door

Kidtriton:

Yeah - a 9' garage door is kind of an odd duck. They are usually 8' or 16' in width and that's it. Do you only have a single-car garage? The builder may have put a slightly larger door on your home if it is only a 1-car stall so it's easier for you to move stuff in and out of what's already an "under-sized" garage.

I'll tell you what -- I'd love to have an "odd duck" 9' door right about now, and while you're at it, throw a couple of extra feet on the back end of the stall as well!
